I can't believe I missed this reaction. This movie was filmed in my home town of Adelaide. A 'cuppa' typically refers to tea, as in a cup of tea. Despite being filmed in Adelaide very few of the cast actually sound like they're from Adelaide. The stronger of the Adelaide accent range has been described as 'English theatre actors attempting to do an Australian accent'.

2025-07-02 20:57:10 +0000 UTCI feel like there is a deeper meaning like not about a mom battling a monster but more like she became the monster, losing her humanity and ability to love by neglecting her child and not bonding with him or ever showing affection. I saw a movie called We need to talk about kevin very good film and it was similar just no storybook monster...but i think that's why they kept the babadook.. as a reminder how u can lose who you are if u shut people out. maybe i'm reading into it maybe its just about an annoying boy and his mom just got really sick of him

2025-05-31 00:42:23 +0000 UTCNo…the little boy was sweet…just traumatized. His Mom shows no feelings, no emotion towards him…she seemed to resented him , blaming him/his birth for the Dad’s death…her indifference and personal trauma contributed to his behavior…She’s on “the list”
