The Angelus is a prayer and each day in Ireland, on the radio at noon and 6pm, the broadcast has the Angelus bell toll to remind folks to stop, take a moment, pray. On TV, it airs just before the 6pm news. So...all across Ireland...folks are familiar with the Angelus bells (they're even referenced in the lyrics to The Foggy Dew...as sung here: https://youtu.be/yaS3vaNUYgs?si=esB21GBYKcvmz_xH ) none of them say it like he does...which is honestly one of my biggest pet peeves about the show...apart from David's absolutely horrid accent that sounds more like the Lucky Charms leprechaun cobbled together with bits and pieces from all over the 32 counties (accents are INCREDIBLY narrow in Ireland...to the point where Irish folks can often peg someone down to the street they grew up on based on speech)

2025-04-29 13:12:36 +0000 UTCAngelus only temporarily resurfacing implies that the curse wasn’t broken and that Angelus is a bigger part of Angel than he probably wants to admit to himself if all it took was a synthetic tranquilizer to bring out his evil side. Also, “no more drugs for that man” is from Face/off, right?
