2025-04-02 11:40:41 +0000 UTCIt's weird sometimes watching these episodes when it's Xander being the one to try and steer other characters away from excessive drinking, knowing what we know now about Nicholas Brendon's own issues (including alleged drinking, drug and steroid use from at least season 2 of the show onwards). I know separation of actor and character, but it's still weird to watch basically an alcoholic drug addict playing the role of someone who is like, "Oh no, don't drink that alcoholic beverage, that's not healthy for you".
