Update: Finished! I colored the character and tried my hand at shading! Ive looked up some refs about it through the last few days and an art friend gave me some tips too. I think I did pretty alright with it for a first time, but it was pretty much all I did this morning and midday. So the background just became mess of colors instead of leaving it a void of nothing.

I made a pink glittery background and a calm blue one, i think i like the calm blue one more? But I'd like to hear what others think.

lined the characters, ended up giving the mom a slightly simpler look.

Alright, ive got the first sketches done , with the first pic being the sketch I will base the end drawing on.

Drawing someone sitting is just always a little difficult for me, either the legs look wrong or the chair looks too big or too small.

But, I think the proportions arent to bad with the most worked out sketch. It's still very messy lines, but tomorrow I should have started on the digital lines ^^
