Archaon's WIP photos

Hi ;) I wanted to show you how I painted Archaon and how I cretaed lime wood base ;)

It's my suggestions ;) Warm colors are more visible than cold ones. So in my opinion you should use very visible cold colors inside ( for example blue with visible intense white). And the warm colors arround should be less saturated than cold. When you do this the middle of the miniature will be the most important for our eyes ;)

This is really my favorite piece! I love how you managed to combine realistic painting with your unique texture and color style. I am currently trying to paint Archaon the other way around, so not fiery warm inside but frozen cold. I find it hard to get that warm contrasting colors onto the model. If you have any tips, let me know :)

First you can use black primer and after white one, only from one direction, like airbrush. So the colors on highlights will look more saturated. I always paint from dark to light, and at the end of painting I usually use a lot of white color and on top of white I use transparent inktenses. Do these colors on the white layers Are the most visible. I hope I help you ;) Have a nice painting

Fascinating! I usually start my model with white primer because I thought the colors will be more brilliant this way (light to dark). But seeing this... maybe I should try a black base and experiment with dark to light.
