Sharing the right messages
Added 2020-06-03 23:18:24 +0000 UTCI came out of a hard week and found twitter in a state of uprising for justice for George Floyd. So I wont be posting this to twitter or social media right now, because I don't want to obscure any information or truth that will help protesters. A large number of my friends and family are american and right now? I just want to elevate POC messages.
I'll share my commissions to social media when I feel it's right to. To all my comissionees, feel free to share the pieces I complete for you. They're your babies, for you to share as you wish. I need to make peace with my position during all of this. As a white woman, I'll be using my privilege to protect and amplify the voices of POC as best I can, and educate myself and others on why it's important to stand up for minorities.
Systemic racism is alive in Australia. We have recorded over 400 deaths of indigenous people in custody since 1991. We are a society built on a history of oppression. The events in america are highlighting our own systemic racism. Let this bring change.
