David was at home, glass of Rootbeer in hand, staring out the window. Today was his birthday, but as in years past, he wouldn't be celebrating. It was a habit he'd developed over the years as a result of various problems and reproaches. Since then, he'd pretended it was a day like any other, but deep down, every year he felt sadder and sadder on this day.

David was getting ready to go out and run a few errands when he heard a knock on his door. He opened the door but saw only a large cardboard box on the floor. Suspicious, he first tried to see if anyone was moving in the stairwell, but only silence could be heard. Surprised, he saw that his name had been written down, but it was impossible to determine the sender. The young man took the box inside and opened it with great care. Inside, he found a virtual reality computer headset and a game called VR-TG-Chat.
David quickly deduced that the game was a derivative of the well-known VR-Chat software and, after the usual checks, installed the software on his computer before launching it. Although everything went smoothly on launch, the young man was soon overcome by a shiver before feeling ill and fainting, without knowing why. When he regained consciousness, he was shocked by his appearance.

He wondered what had happened, how he could have become this character. He tried to remove the helmet to return to the real world, but felt nothing. David began to panic as a voice spoke up.
-Don't panic, it's normal that you don't feel the helmet, I'll explain everything.
David turned and saw a Mirko, dressed in latex, waiting for him.

-Who are you?
-Come on, Val, you don't recognize me, even though it should be obvious.
-Mei?
-Winner!
-But how?
-Follow me, I'll explain everything.
-Right.
Mirko helped Mai to her feet before starting to walk around this strange world. The superheroine explained everything. It was she, through their friend Kato, who had delivered the helmet and the game.
-But I didn't hear anyone in the stairwell.
-Well, I stopped moving when you opened the door," said a new voice.
David/Mai turned around and saw a smiling Yoruichi watching them.

-Kato?
-Yes, if I brought you the game, I had to see what you looked like.
-I told you what I was going to make her look like.
-You never know with you rabbit, you're pretty vicious.
-Don't take me for you. I'm not that kind of girl.
-Yeah yeah, anyway, I'm gonna go warn the others, see you later.
-The others?
-Yes, other members of our blog are here.
-Who are they?
-Surprise.
The Yoruichi left without taking the names, leaving David/Mai in doubt. Mirko laughed at the situation, reassuring his friend that all would be well and that she would introduce them all, so there would be no unpleasant surprises. And so they arrived in order.

Once again, everyone wished their friend a happy birthday before spending the afternoon in the virtual world. David had nothing to fear, as Mei had assured him that the headset would provide for his needs, and that even a surprise would be waiting for him that evening, as a final gift. The evening arrived and David, with a heavy heart, was finally able to disconnect, but was treated to Mei's famous surprise.

At last, he had become himself and began to weep with joy when the knock came again. The new woman opened the door and was surprised to see Mei, now a woman herself. Before David or Valéria could say anything, Mei kissed him and gently led him to the bedroom, where the two women enjoyed a wonderful night, but that's another story.
