Tom i don’t think you are seeing the reason PlayStation is remastering the biggest games from last gen. For one, it is a good way to give junior devs experience shipping something. Two, over 30% of PS5 owners never even owned a PS4, so it’s more convenient having these critically acclaimed games with a PS5 label. And three… when PS6 comes out are you really going to want to play a game that is designed for a HDD? lol. 1-2min long loading times in 10th gen… no thanks. It’s also probably a lot easier to patch a PS5 game with PS6 upgrades that already has 3D audio added, SSD support, RT. I get that it would have made more sense to remaster/remake these games in a later gen. But it’s also an optional purchase and every game that has gotten a paid remaster, also received a FREE 4k60 patch. Getting these games off HDD file systems early was the greatest thing Sony could do. And it has zero impact on new projects. I mean how many times has Skyrim been remastered? 3 times in 10 years lol, GTA5, 2 times in 9 years. Horizon Zero Dawn, once in 7.75 years. Lol. How many brand new IP did Sony create last gen? More than Xbox and Nintendo have combined in the last 20 years. Sorry for the rant, just hate seeing all the people online (not you) say Sony has nothing except remasters, when Sony has been clear on their strategy and when they will show things. They have never once changed this plan or lied to their consumers when the situation was not out of their control
