We live in Groundhog day: forever 8GB nvidia gpus.

For the money Nvidia charges with there graphics cards. 16gb of ram and a 256 bit bus should be the minimum standard at these prices. High end cards should have 24-32gb and a 512 bit bus. God forbid if Nvidia lost an extra 5-10$ on the extra 8gb of memory.
