The next episode of Broken Silicon will see us be joined by Tayler & Jacob, founders of Infuse Studio! These are people that Tom has actually met in person years ago, and they are VERY excited to answer an eclectic set of questions regarding:

Technically you have ~24 hours to submit, but it would be best for our preparation if you get your questions done over the next 6 hours since we are recording early this week. Just make sure you are concise, use good grammar, and are respectful to have your submission below considered!

Hi Tayler & Jacob, Well, it never fails: Any time a new PC game comes out with awesome graphics requiring newer hardware, there’s inevitably accusations of “poor optimization”. This seems to be an effort to shame and disrespect developers simply for not prioritizing graphics technologies that can still run maxed-out on a mid-tier GPU from 4 years ago. What are your thoughts on some folks framing the issue this way? And in order to ensure game graphics keep getting better, which outdated hardware specs should be the next to get dropped? (For example: Remedy essentially dropped support for non-mesh-shader GPU’s in order to allow Alan Wake II’s graphics to be so incredible). Thanks!

Jeff R.

Hey guys, How often do you think partially broken chips are shipped to consumers by CPU/GPU makers? I personally have to RMA half of the high-tech stuff I buy.
