I did an internship at NIST when it was still the National Bureau of Standards, and learned a lot about the lengths engineers have to go to measure things at the extremes. It was interesting to hear the current state of the art.

must have missed it when I was listening earlier, Tom kind of asks this around the 45min mark in regards to APUs using system ram.

I realize it's probably a non-starter but with video ram being an issue has Brad taken a look at the apple silicon macbook pros? it uses unified memory and can be bumped to 96gig.
