Reader Mail for February Loose Ends

Although the last week has been a little quiet, February actually saw quite a bit of news, including:

There's also a decent amount of RDNA 3 and Lovelace Releases coming shortly (Tom  has some 4070 stuff to share) - Please ask away about ANYTHING from this month or coming in the next year!

You have ~3 hours to ask questions!

Since Xeon W is really up against Threadripper Pro right now do you think that Xeon hedtish rigs will become more popular and take some of that market share back from AMD while we wait to hear about TR7000

Any whispers on meteor lake? There was a leaked Intel gpu roadmap showing tiles for meteor, arrow and panther lake, I believe. Is it looking like a CES next year launch or could they make back to school season and get it into thin & lights?

Jarrod just posted the review for the Asus A16, but surprisingly, his review sample was the 7735 or basically just Rembrandt. What's going on with Phoenix and why does AMD always seem to overhype and under deliver on laptop? There appears to be a clear opening to take market share and AMD seemingly just can't be bothered to generate supply.

Hey Tom, With Nvidia adding video upscaling to their drivers, Intel planning to add it to their drivers, and Microsoft adding it to their Edge browser, does AMD plan to integrate this functionality into their own drivers?

Hi Tom, what 40-series laptop GPU is the M2 max closest too in performance?

As the nerfs, cut backs and layoffs continue to mount do you sense any souring of company opinion against Pat? I know everyone says "if Pat can't safe us, no one can" but I'm wondering just how long that leash is.

How important do you think timing is for taking market share? Is it more or less meaningful during up/down markets? Current vs past generations matter in your mind?

So Nvidia keeps manipulating the market because they are in a dire situation, it's understandable. What happens next? they are locked into a corner with Lovelace. What is their next ploy?

A year ago we still had some hope that Intel could save us from the GPU apocalypse. Now we have to hope that they can save themselves. How much trouble do you think Intel are really in and how concerned do you think we should be about their future competitiveness?

Most reviewers don't seem impressed with Nvidia's DLSS3 frame generation, and it's rarely even mentioned in discussions on factors to considered before purchasing. Keeping that in mind how much does AMD really need FSR3? You outlined your theory recently on how "AMD must take market share" how does FSR3 fit into this? Is their current strategy for taking market share by exiting RFNA 2 with already superior raster per dollar at all dependent on FSR3's success? Do you think it will be a bigger factor for RDNA 3? I'm struggling to see how another "we can do that too" tech that nobody really cares about will move the needle compared to simply "fixing" RDNA 3's drivers.
