Hey Tom and Jarrod, so I am looking at the new X3D chips and wondering the if multithreading performance will take a hit on the 7900x3d and 7950x3d similar to or will the disaggregated chiplettes be able to meat and exceed the multithreading of the 7950x and 13900k?

2023-01-08 22:10:24 +0000 UTCGood timezone Tom and Jarrod. I (right after launch) got a samsung Z Fold 4 and am in love with the tech, and with how many companies are jumping on the train, and how much cheaper/reliable they're getting, I see them as a coming natural extension of the mobile space. Hell, they're even reaching into the desktop space now. How much longer do you think it will be before this technology has a solid presence in at least the mobile space beyond a few halo products?

2023-01-08 21:15:04 +0000 UTCHi Jarrod, welcome back to the show! I'll get to the question in a minute. I ha new artist to recommend to you: Robert Slump. Best cover of Bury the Light I have ever heard. Anyways after watching the presentation of the mobile graphics, something stuck out to me: the ability to use transcoding on the discrete graphics. If I am not mistaken, did not the RX 6000 one's not encode video? thanks in advance.

2023-01-08 20:34:29 +0000 UTCI was helping my brother find a laptop for his research work (which includes a bit of machine learning but also a LOT of writing papers and spreadsheets) and accidentally stumbled upon the Rembrandt 6800HS update of the Vivobook Pro 14 OLED ( https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VivoBook-OLED-Laptop-WQXGA/dp/B0BHW3HJB1? ) which is a pretty neat "creator" laptop with a Pantone calibrated 1600p 90hz OLED. It's amazing how ASUS didn't seed this to reviewers and so I could only find reviews of the older Cezanne version. This thing is an incredibly impressive piece of kit and somehow cheaper than the older version. Why is it these laptops get so little marketing effort? (though for my brother, a great deal)

2023-01-08 20:13:52 +0000 UTCLooking at your review/comparisons of the 3070 & 3080 mobile from last year, there doesn't seem to be a large difference in performance to consider paying substantially more for a 3080 laptop. With this generation, Nvidia seems to be cutting down the 4070 significantly. Perhaps they feel like its going to be 'too competitive' with the xx80 class again and want there to be more of a separation between them? Do you guys think Nvidia don't want the xx70 class to be 'high-end' anymore?

2023-01-08 20:01:37 +0000 UTCHello Tom and Jarrod, do you think the current oversupply will lead to more eGPUs going on the market? What are the prospects for those going forward?

2023-01-08 18:01:07 +0000 UTCWhen do you guys think would be good time to potentially buy 2022 laptop models for cheap? Now would be good or wait for few months?

2023-01-08 12:08:35 +0000 UTCLooking at a lot of CES coverage it doesn't look like AMD laptop offerings are as prominent as Intel one's. Do you think this will change later on down the line? Perhaps AMD offerings being not only cheaper but also more power efficient to compete?

2023-01-08 03:43:48 +0000 UTCUntil recently AMD has been focused on APUs for laptops and while they do have a decent market share, the release of Dragon Range suggests that the APU only strategy didn't meet their expectations. Did AMD get their strategy wrong? What are your hopes or expectations for the future of APUs in laptops?

2023-01-08 00:22:50 +0000 UTCHello T&J. How do you guys feel about the mobile market as a whole? Previous generations have been the usual uplifts, sometimes regressions in some aspects but to me it seems like Zen 4 and Meteor Lake are really attempting to push mobile further with performance, efficiency and AI/Neural Engine. It seems like a larger than normal leap from both companies for me.
