Wrapping Up 2022 Hardware Discussions - Die Shrink Telegrams

So Tom has completed his RTX 4090 & 4080 Review - but that's not the only things the MLID team has tested this year!  We've also tested, and failed to fully discuss:

Sometimes we just don't have the time to get review videos done, but we do still test products sent to us just to...idk...make sure we don't get out of touch!  So please, write in below with any questions about these products listed above, other gaming hardware releases you feel we haven't discussed enough this year, or also feel free to ask follow-up questions about the 4080 and 4090!

Don't worry, Tom, Dan, and an upcoming guest will thoroughly discuss the 7900 XTX and XT over the next couple weeks...but this piece of content is about wrapping up discussions about every other little thing from this year!

You have ~16 hours (till Sunday Night US Central Time) to write in!  Be as concise, respectful, and thoughtful as possible in your submissions below!

Hi Tom Something Ive always wondered, whats the story behind the computer in the photo at the top of your patreon page?

Hello Sir Tom and Mr. Dan, Do you believe Nvidia's tactics attempting to permanently inflate prices and shift all the SKUs down, or up depending upon perspective will stick? Personally I hope it blows up in Jensen's face. AMD is no help either. It seems every time they have had a chance to take M.S. since the launch of RX5000 they Blow It! Why is that or am I trippin? This time they follow Nvidia into SKU shifting. They need to Start fresh with axing the Radeon Branding! And fire the entire marketing dept. IMO. They owe ATI nothing at this point. Just AMD or Ryzen GPU will do. Lastly do you think something went terribly wrong in the bringup of Navi 31 and will they come hard for the HALO with a refresh? Thank you.

Hi Tom and Dave, any thoughts on the new RTX 6000? Specifically about how it has the same amount of VRAM as the last generation, and does AMD plan on competing with it?

How was the A4000? Ever since the crypto market has crashed and miners are out here selling A4000s like theyre virtually useless at dirt cheap pricing, after putting a little bit of TLC into the card, would you recommend such a powerful single slot card to small form factor/ITX builders which I know includes yourself with that beautiful sliger case of yours. Or perhaps in those ridiculous 5L or 7L builds?

Have you tested the A770 recently? I've heard there have been improvements with some games. Given the price, would you recommend the A770 over the 3060?

ManBearPig

Hey Tom and Dan. What GPU becomes the next 1060 now that next gen games are starting to push again and resolutions are increasing!

Uhhh…gaming on a low end card is not ideal! I’ve been on a 6600 for a while waiting for the 7900 xtx release. I recently started to game at 4k. How did you cope with an even weaker card than mine at 4k??

Hey Tom, just upgraded to the 13700K and honestly I'm surprised how efficient it is. I have it at 5.2ghz and even stressed tested it only used about 175 Watts (I know that's still alot) but compared to what was said in reviews it much better, just had to make some tweaks in the Bios

Hey Tom and Dan (if he’s there). Have you seen that there are finally real sized oled monitors coming out? LG has the 27GR95QE-B a 27in 1440p 240hz monitor for $1000 which is available for preorder December 12th. Asus has also teased their own version of this panel on Twitter and the full unveil will be at ces 2023.

T&D, now that you guys have had time with the 6500 XT/RTX 3050. How do you feel they stack up? We're over the crazy times right now, do their prices align with performance? I personally think the 3050 is priced WAY too high still (pretty much the same price as 6700/some 6700XT models in Canada). 6500 XT while having certain restrictions seems to be a better buy for entry level gamers overall.
