I'm probably waiting for Q1 to build and I see a lot of people saying the same thing. How much do you the poor sales are about the botched launch and how much do you think it's people like me interested in the X3D parts is effecting sales?

Samantha Vimes

Hi Tom, how is the Dog doing? You surely have seen Intel's marketing Video, with honestly quite a lot of benchmarked games for the A770 & A750. It looked "ok" to me, with all the troubles ARC currently has in mind. Although... the price/performance comparisons, made to a $418 avg selling price of a 3060, were a little shady IMO. But one interesting thing was mentioned: Independent reviews are planned for next week to release - have you heard anything from your professional colleagues how testing is going? Drivers, review guides, performance etc. - give us something to chew on.

I've been considering a media server running off a raspberry pi. I've seen mixed opinions on them being able to handle 4k, do you know? Also, any chance a new raspberry pi is coming soon?

Howdy Tom, How much does AM5's Thicc IHS contribute to the observed thermal behavior? Der8auer has shown fascinating test results. Thanks

Hi Tom, I think ARC's pricing sounds intriguing, but for me personally, it depends on how final pricing in europe pans out. While Gaming Performance is underwhelming, I think for a Deep Learning Workstation with Linux, the A770 with 16GB, those XMX Cores, open-source drivers and oneAPI might be really tempting for me, if it works well with my cheap Haswell-E Server or maybe some Ryzen CPU in the future.

When can we get dlss type upscaling on streamed videos? I would love an upgrade for my various streaming services without moving to a different area.

What up Tom? Hope Reesie is doing well. I would just like to get your thoughts on the 7000 series overall. For me, it seems like a lot of the engineering feats AMD have achieved with this new generation seem a bit underappreciated, if they're even noticed at all. For instance, the IMC/RAM timings self-adjustments, the fact that AMD specifically states it can run at sustained 95C without thermal throttling, while reportedly having no degradation of the chip itself over time, the impressive Eco-boost mode, etc. Most YouTubers and viewers alike seem completely fixated on the platform costs, when the reality is EVERYTHING costs more. And no one that I've watched besides MLiD is even talking about the AIB's shameless price gouging on the X760 and X670E motherboards as an "early adopter tax", instead blaming AMD themselves because DDR5 RAM and the new motherboard pricing is so high and using this as an excuse to give them generally negative reviews based on total upgrade costs. This is definitely one of the strangest launches I've seen in a while, and I'm left feeling a bit conflicted. We've got new product in stock, not really selling, we've got some charts showing nominal increases over soon-to-be-last-gen Intel in some workloads, and I find myself asking whether or not Zen 4 can even be considered a worthwhile leap in performance. Despite all this, I still think AMD has superior engineering with their chips, and I can't help but remain hopeful that as the emotional high of the initial launch begins to subside, more will be revealed about the truly remarkable advancements that have been made with these CPUs. Do you agree?

Hi Tom, do you think that nvidia reduced the power of the 4090 last minute from ~660w down to 450w. Looking at the difference in coolers between the 450w 3090ti and 450w 4090 has me confused! Cheers, Julian

Because Ryzen 7000 is on 5nm, do you think AMD will continue to produce Ryzen 5000 for a bit longer to use up any 7nm wafers they contracted?

Hey Tom, do you have any info about that "accidentally shown" 34-core Raptor Lake Wafer? If it ever get's launched, I assume, since it has a Mesh Interconnect, it will lose a little bit in Gaming compared to Desktop Raptor Lake. Will this be Intel's Answer to a potential 7950X3D or Zen 4(3D) HEDT Platform? Do you think actually affordable HEDT might be back again in the near future?

KingKoro

Hello Tom, here's a short one. How low do you think prices of the last generation will go following the launch of the next series of cards? Do you think that it would be worth it to get a $500 6800XT over a similarly priced card from RDNA 3? Methinks VRAM will be fairly plentiful this gen, so 4K may be pretty easy in the middle tiers.

Hi Tom. In your latest video, you talk about how Intel might not have a lot of Alchemist volume to sell. But earlier this year, Intel mentioned that they were planning to ship 4 million discrete GPUs in 2022. Do you think they'll still "try" to keep their promise or was this just another lie?
