Would love a PS3 episode!

Would love to hear a PS3 launch pod. I remember getting one within the first couple months. The only good launch title was Resistance (which damnit, they really need to bring that series back!). Took awhile for the system to really start churning out exclusives though.

I remember watching the announcement on live stream, just hoping that this time Microsoft will win me over so I would get both consoles. They wanted to force Kinect on everyone, so they sacrificed performance to fit the console in the $500 price tag. Somehow Microsoft got it in their heads they can beat Nintendo if they make a console that can do all the same stuff as the Wii and more, and they didn't get the memo that people buy Nintendo out of brand loyalty towards their exclusive games. Requiring the Kinect to be plugged in didn't die at the planning stages, it was in the original firmware. It was some months after the launch that they issued a firmware update to allow you to run the console without a Kinect.

I’m all aboard the don matrick hate train, but I think people don’t realize the impact from the mandates Steve “who’s going to pay $599 for a phone?!” Balmer and Microsoft had. They wanted people to have one media center, to expand on what the 360 pioneered with Netflix, with the connect bringing in people didn’t know how to use controllers. It makes sense that for how successful the connect was they’d try to make it the lowest common denominator for development. And the drm was classic microsoft, games are software after all. That’s all understandable, if out of touch, at the very least, but coupled with embarrassing execution, it all added up to burning their main audience. Plus a humbled Sony came out swinging. Also I’d love a ps3 die shrink!

In battlefield 4, the squad callouts: need ammo, attack/defend, etc could be called out and your kinect would save you the button press in-game. Skyrim shouts are also able to be shouted to the kinect.

I was a xbox gamer also, got a 360 in like 2012 and I later bought an Xbox one when they were giving them away for 200 bucks on Amazon, and I already had a library or 360 games I could play on it with backwards compat. After high school I built a pc, was always into pc hardware since about the gtx 700 era. I agree that a large portion of Xbox players switched to pc after the dogshit “xbone”
