Build 0.08 of News desk

Hey everyone!

Whew!  This build took awhile to finish.  Every Time I thought I was done adding character art, I would find another file to update and when that was done, I had the fun surprise of noticing some bugs.  But that’s all behind us now!  Now is the time for rejoicing as we have colors to our world.  Hehe.

This build is the first “ready to play” build!  By that I mean that it’s ready to be tried if you waited for the game to be more complete to give it a try.  The combat mechanics are going to remain like they are, there’s plenty of sexy stuff to see, there’s a tutorial and now there’s art.  Truly, we are blessed.  ^_^

The only bad news would be that for long time player, it would be better to restart.  The reason for that is the way I saved your decks.  Because of that, it saved the lack of art as well.  I tried to find a way around it but sadly couldn't.  Plus, the cards that you have probably changed a little.

1 posts down for the cheat password.

2 posts down for the 0.08 build links.

3 posts down for the 0.07 build links.

Look in the OP for the free 0.06 build links.

The deets:

- Added card arts (both yours and Cassandra’s)

- Added tutorial, along with the ability to replay the first game as often as you like to practice.

- Changed game mechanics.  You now try to get the other to zero influence rather than get to 50.

- Because of the change in mechanics, I change a few of your and Cassandra’s cards.

- I also removed the rewards for removing her cards as I found that it was hard to remember when playing.

- Added character art everywhere!

- Added an event to “business street”.

- Added a new card for you.

- Added a networking option in “news room” to help buff up your influence.

As you can see, the build is pretty late but that’s because it’s a jumbo one.  If you find any kind of bugs, please give me a head’s up.  I tried to test as much as possible but something could have easily have snuck past.

Next week, I’ll be doing some writing.  Maybe some Tiffany one as I feel like it’s been a while since I touched her.

MUPLUR will be doing some CGs!  He’s almost done with two scenes already and he’s got a couple more already sketched.

The next build will probably be smaller but it will be packed with sex and images.  ^_^

Have a great week!

Yes. I was supposed to lock the sexual cards until you are a bit farther in the game. There's also going to be more allies with the whore tag in the future. I also want to add changing numbers to cards and allies as they need to change during the game. (How many Karen uses left or how powered up your work hard cards are right now) I've also had a few people complain that it wasn't fun to lose all the time at the start. That is the feeling that I was going for to make the final victory sweeter but I'll try to think of little ways to reward the player during the early game. It's always the same story. Hehe. I ran out of time. Things have to be prioritized. I will get to them at some point, though.

Wow! Nice game breakdown. ^_^ You are right that in the late game, the future versions will add some bounce back from Cassandra to keep the game fun to play.

A lot of the feedback above by Lymeria is how I also feel, but I do want to request that if the Whore cards are going to remain as is two changes are made: 1) Give an indication of who the whore is when buying those cards. I thought they were based on getting Cassandra to a certain level at first. 2) Show the number of charges left on Karen. More than once I forgot I had already used her twice and then lost access to 2-3 cards in my deck.

Hey! Just "won" the current game version and thought I'd share some thoughts, and also offer a guide of sorts for people struggling with what I found was a very easy and straightforward game. I say "won" because after getting 1000+ glory there doesn't seem to be an end state or victory screen. Anyway thoughts and guide: Early Game: -So I really like the idea of starting out losing every single "fight" and needing to gather up resources in order to start making a come back. It plays really REALLY well into story in a way most games struggle with. I'm thinking of traditional games such as fighting games that tell you through story that an opponent is incredibly powerful and too much for you at the moment and either you beat them anyway in the fight, then are told you actually lost in the next cutscene, or they get some kind of uber buff status that means they don't take damage or one shot you or whatever, that is then taken away in the next "real" fight with that opponent after fulfilling whatever quest you need to do to short circuit their power. In this Cassandra needs to be chipped away at through actions outside of the actual "fight" while you build up your own power. It works really well and is very enjoyable! -In the early game you are destined to lose every fight you take, this is supposed to happen story-wise and so the best strategy here is to lose as fast as you can while mitigating her winnings. In the early game, which I'm calling the point in the game where Cassandra is more powerful, your goals are 1) to save up as much resources as possible (money, energy, blackmail) 2) tank your own influence to 0 as fast as you can, and 3) prevent her from gaining as much work as possible, in that priority order. -1) It's really easy to save up energy, just don't play cards and upgrade yourself at the gym. This means taking away her cards by Discarding and Spending is very beneficial since you won't be using many cards anyway. So the first thing you want to go for is money. Luckily we have a card that gives you free money every time you play it! Use it every fight and upgrade it as soon as possible to ++. Once you have money you can now buy blackmail, either at the Ghetto or the Education Street. It doesn't take long before you can buy cards that give you blackmail, then you can add that to your deck and start generating it the same way as money, just don't forget to upgrade. Glory is harder to gain since the main way to get it is winning battles, but you can get glory from Shmoozing the big wigs in the Business Street or NewsRoom areas, and if you learn how to spot girls in the gym that's a free 2 glory every time. Definitely go for those as much as possible in the early game. -DON'T FORGET TO USE UP ALL YOUR ENERGY. You can farm some really good resources just by visiting places over and over. In the early game if you can pay money for more energy DO IT! It's the most valuable resource you have to start! -2) Tanking your influence is very easy since she's going to have really OP cards at the start and Prideful Demeanor is a free -10 whenever you take it away. Just remember that the goal isn't to take away as many cards as possible from her, the goal is to lose without her gaining work. She's gonna gain some, it's just gonna happen, but this isn't an issue because she needs 1000 glory to win and that takes so long it's almost irrelevant as long as you're undermining her and upgrading yourself. Pro tip is to try to have 10 blackmail at the end of every day (when you run down to 0 energy) then use that to go to Cassandra's house. Remember which cards give you the most trouble (aside from the appearance card which only gets stronger as you corrupt her) and target those parts of her first. I recommend going after mind first, then fans, then her daughter Tiffany, which is unlocked by getting far enough into the mind tree. -3) Work is something that is incredibly important to mitigate in the early game, and absolutely useless for her in the late game, the point where you are stronger than she is. If you let her work snowball she can really ramp up Glory fast. Sometimes it's worth it to lose a bit of energy or blackmail to prevent her from gaining 20+ work in one turn. Mid Game: -This is the point of the game where you're just as strong as she is and can start winning. By this point you should have downgraded her most annoying cards by a bit and should have good, if not max, energy and influence. The key to this part is choosing your deck. Adding a bunch of cards just slows you down, you want to find 10 that work for this phase, upgrade them to max, and keep those 10 only. In the early game resource generation cards are the most important and work and influence generation cards are useless, so remove those and put in money and blackmail generation cards instead, then just spam them as much as you can till you get here, the mid game, where you can now start fighting back. -By this point she should have about 600-800 glory. That seems like a lot, but trust me it really doesn't matter. At this point in time we're gonna start turning the tables and her wins are going to get much more rare. Since we want to win now, the cards we most need are cards that tank her influence. The best to use is Powerplay, which when fully upgraded costs a mere 5 glory to tank 30 influence!!! and Stick in the Wheels, which when fully upgraded costs a mere 5 blackmail to remove 10 influence. Stick in the Wheels is best for the first half of the mid game, before you start winning, since the Bend Over card, when fully upgraded, gives you 25 blackmail for FREE, when you use your ally Karen to eliminate its energy cost. -REMEMBER TO ALWAYS UPGRADE CARDS! It's not worth trying to win a round if your cards aren't fully upgraded, and you should try to keep your deck to 10 eliminating cards you don't need. Influence enhancing cards are absolutely useless throughout the entire game and I think they need to be changed fundamentally or removed since early game you don't care about your influence. Mid game you have upgraded your maximum influence which is better since it's permanent and doesn't cost energy during the round, and late game you have so much influence and she's so weak you never run out unless you try to lose. There's just no point in the game where influence cards are good. Sorry pyor... -You should try to make a deck that mixes resource generation (I used a 10 card deck with one ++ money hoarding and one ++ bend over and since the deck is so small they cycle quickly enough to keep me in the black meaning I can dedicate the rest to power play++s and Stick in the Wheel++s and then whatever other -HER influence cards I could find along with a Giving Head Under the Desk card to gain energy for free. Work Ethic and Hard Work cards finish up the deck and make Power Play worth it. Didn't use the Rest card at all since by the time you get to the point where you can win you should have max or near max energy and not really need it to farm resources anymore. -Remember to continue spending 10 blackmail after using up all energy for the day to continue down Cassandra, Tiffany, and Emily's story paths. Downgrading Tiffany to Bronze Daughter status is very good and getting into Emily's path provides you with free money meaning you don't need to have that Money Hoarding++ anymore and can replace it with more Hard Work++. Late Game: -Here's the part of the game where you're stronger than her and she should not be winning anymore unless you mess up and just aren't paying attention. This part of the game is essentially just a Work Grind to 1000 glory (which I assume will be fixed in the future as more story content and scenes are added). You don't need resource generation cards anymore since you have so much energy you can just go spam the Ghetto and get anything you need. Keep 10 cards that only focus on winning and winning BIG. I use 2 Power Play++, 2 Stick in the Wheels++, 1 Work Ethic++, 4 Hard Work++, and 1 Blowjob Under Desk++. In retrospect I really did't need the Blowjob Under Desk and should've swapped that out for more Hard Work, but hey I'm a man of my perverted ways ;D -I didn't find this game difficult in any respect and the above description was my first time playing it. You just have to know what your goals are for each phase of the game and you can win very easily! Still, enjoyed it quite a bit, though it was starting to get a bit too rough in the humiliation for my tastes. I'm very vanilla though so don't let that discourage you and keep making awesome games pyorgara!
