Regarding Llano/Phenom 3... not sure how clockspeed is related to cache size! I do fully agree that a phenom 3 with the resources from Bulldozer would have probably maintained/pushed clocks up from Phenom 2. And would indeed have been a better product than Bulldozer.

2020-08-04 14:25:49 +0000 UTCA surface with such a powerful APU would be awesome, but probably a little too expensive for most console buyers. I was thinking of something more Switch-like, and probably a bit less powerful, that would allow the better off console owners to take their games with them, but also be a cheaper lounge room alternative for those that need it. I'm keen to see whether we get a surface with the Xbox APU though. My friend who works in tech is absolutely convinced the next Surface will be ARM based, and that x86 will be left behind by RISC sooner rather than later. We'll see.
