2020-06-30 22:11:50 +0000 UTCVery nice episode and good choice of guests. I have GamePass ultimate on PC and I've enjoyed it a lot. I don't care for Microsoft exclusives much, but having a "Netflix for games" has been very nice - I discovered lots of games that I would traditionally be reluctant to buy since I wasn't sure if I'd like them. That said, I hope this is not a "race to the bottom" situation, also with the ever more popular games as a service and microtransaction models. What I worry is that more and more devs/publishers will push for those kinds of revenue models - I worry that this will more and more interfere with the design of games. Personally, I want a game that provides a good single player experience from start to finish - I don't want my "game" to in fact become kind of a threadmil, time sinker and a platform for microtransactions / seasons.

Sure there will be a less power hungry and better looking slim or similar pro version after a couple years. Did the same with the PS4 Pro and glad I did not buy the base PS4 day 1. Have plenty of games to catch up on before playing the new ones.
