Die Shrink Subjects Vote: Old Hardware Releases
Added 2020-04-02 23:56:52 +0000 UTCIt's abundantly clear that you guys want us to talk about Scientific subjects whenever possible, but I also see a desire to talk about our favorite games and prior hardware releases...
Me and Dan are putting together a games list (that you will all vote on regularly), but right now I would like you to vote on which prior hardware release you are all most interested in us covering in a Die Shrink. These are some random early examples we would like you all to vote on for subjects.
Also feel free to suggest GPU, CPU, Laptop, Console, etc releases that happened in the last 10 Years. For now I am limiting it to releases to around Sandy Bridge & Fermi (or later)...

I'd really like to know why the Dreamcast failed. Was probably my favorite console. Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, Power Stone 2, Crazy Taxi, Phantasy Star Online, and the incredibly unique controller and multi function memory card.

2020-04-03 16:56:39 +0000 UTCI'll never forget the Vega over-hype! Ha, what a train wreck that was! Especially it was a paper launch with cards not showing up for weeks.

2020-04-03 01:22:34 +0000 UTCWondering how 1070 1080 1080ti compare to vega 56 64 7. Especially for paralellised GPU processing.
2020-04-03 00:15:48 +0000 UTCPiledriver / Bulldozer ... Even the the IPC was pretty crappy, I think the core design was ok.. and when I ran newer games on an overclocked nearing 5 Ghz, it ran newer titles like Tombraider decently ... sure it took a water cooler, and heated the room up to the point I had to open the window in winter to cool the room down so I can continue to play.
