Comments

Coreteks is just fine, he's telling us bedtime stories about tech. Edit: Also, I do agree with the stagnation of monitors over the years. I bought LG's UltraGear 34GK950F ultrawide 3440x1440 144Hz monitor open-box for $860 a year ago. This monitor is great for my current build (3900X, Radeon VII, 32GB RAM overclocked to 3600MHz from 3200MHz). However, it still retails north of $1000 US wherever you look. It's a nice, curved gaming ultrawide with good color accuracy, "HDR 400" (meh), Freesync 2, 144Hz refresh rate, and NanoIPS (main reason I looked into this model). This monitor is great and I advise people to look at monitors like these or similar for at least 30% below MSRP. Last year NanoCell TVs were typically as expensive, if not more expensive, than this monitor. At the same time, OLED cost even more by comparison. I observed NanoCell TVs at my job recently and saw the same kind of quality I get from my ultrawide, which tempts me to upgrade from my Insignia garbage bargain TV. The OLED TVs always blew me away, but I didn't have $1699 to invest in one at the time. Right now I'm getting my bills paid so I can be able to save up for an OLED, but I'd really love to see an OLED monitor at a good price, which might not happen in another 3-5 years, sadly. Still, my next upgrade would actually be an OLED TV for my multimedia station with my Nano IPS monitor remaining for the next few years to come.
