It's a real fight against yourself, and your feelings, rather than against others. Thors managed to understand that. Against Halfdan, he traded (and it wasn't in his favor too) for a dying slave just to save the bit of humanity that man had left. He could have easily defended the village against Floki as well, but didn't. Thorfinn is on the path of realizing that. Even his father was once a viking warrior and found enlightenment. It's Thorfinn's turn.

2023-03-07 15:09:37 +0000 UTCif you remember Thors when he fought Askeladd men and Askeladd he didnt kill anyone while beating them. i think that might be the route for a true warrior. so Thorfinn might follow through that. I'm really holding myself out not to read the manga for answers

2023-03-07 14:38:03 +0000 UTCYou kinda don't get it. Standing up for yourself, and hurting someone are two different things. Thorfinn regrets acting based on anger and rage, not on the desire to protect. That is the oath he takes at the end, to stop using violence to solve his problems.
