Oh god so hyped for this match! Absolutely! You pointed out a huge issue for Kuroko whenever he goes up against the Generation of Miracles. Unfortunately every match he will be handicapped because they know a lot of his stuff.

^^I didn't watch the OVAs when I was binging the anime but I feel like all the characters were well placed and introduced within the anime itself so imo it's fine to continue watching the anime and watch the OVAs later.

I agree with that last post :) Especially because we know Teddy likes to discover characters when they are meant to be in the spotlight.

I mean you can watch it. About half of the episode does fit within the narrative. However, the other half of the episode basically being anime original content featuring the GOM in a slice of life high school setting. You get to "casually" meet the rest of the GoM in a slice of life school setting, which IMO reduces their mysteriousness, and the impact of their introduction later on the actual series. So when you do watch it, and you meet them again later, it's like "oh hey it's you again, I remember you from that one casual episode" as opposed to "oooh I wonder what this dude is like".
Besides, if we're talking context/backstory, I think 22.5 OVA is better watched on a specific arc that does fit a lot better within the narrative, which I won't say when to watch it until you get to that point.

I don’t think there’s a wrong answer here. I watched it and felt like it enhanced the experience more than hurt it but it does show some characters briefly that we’ll see later.

Idk there were quite a few people saying not to so I'm probably not going to

I dont agree about it spoiling anything. Its placed at this moment for a reason cause you are supposed to meet them a little

Yes, I saw someone say that, but I don’t know if I agree with that statement. It does pre-introduce some characters (and they have VERY minor roles), but I wouldn’t call it a spoiler (you get hints about their personality, that’s it).
You could skip it and follow the story, but like I said, the context/backstory the OVA provides is very good to know and relevant right now story-wise before going into the next few episodes.
So, better backstory/understanding of characters such as Kise (which helps with upcoming match) vs premature introduction to some characters.
You can pick which one to go with, but in my opinion it should be the former.

The ova apparently spoils some upcoming characters which get introduced later on in like S2 so I'm gonna watch it after that

Yeah there's no way I could've gotten that 😂

As someone commented, drive is basketball terminology in this instance. Basically being able to move with the ball yourself, instead of passing.
Midorima is such a tsundere 😆
As I requested before, please do check out the upcoming OVA as well. I think it provides some important context/backstory for Kise.

Midorima did help Kuroko by saying what he said in the flashback (that's why they included it in this ep) which our cute boi only noticed now haha. By saying that his style was only relying on others, he understood he had to learn something on an individual standpoint. (His drive, meaning dribbling forward and passing by someone who tries to stop you)
Time for one of my top 3 matches of the series~

I’m very excited for these episodes! Drive in basketball terminology is when somebody runs toward the basket with possession of the ball. It often results in that person doing a dunk, layup, or passing to someone who is open due to defenders responding to the drive.
