2023-01-18 06:01:49 +0000 UTCYes, blocking the ball just before the basket is called “goaltending” and is not allowed. Basically, the ball can only be blocked while it is ascending, once it reaches its highest point and on the way down you are not allowed to interfere with the shot. You’re also correct that while Kuroko and Kagami are a duo, they’re not quite as interdependent. Although Kuroko can’t score, he is still an excellent support player. While Hinata was an amateur with practically no game (or tournament) experience at the beginning, Kuroko is a veteran and a 3-time national champion from middle school as part of the GoM. That is not to say one is better than the other, just that they are at different stages as a player and have different challenges. Hope this episode helped you mentally, if only a little bit.

2023-01-17 18:43:59 +0000 UTCThey weren't surprised at Midorima's scoring, but rather under the fear that after defending perfectly for 2 minutes and keeping it at 0 - 0, they let Shutoku take the momentum with a three. They were scared of always being behind by 3 at that very moment, thankfully Kuroko's surprise pass right after they scored before Shutoku could go back to defense, allowed Kagami to get it to 3 - 2 which is just one possession away from taking the lead, instead of two possessions if it stayed at 0.
