Of the new releases this year, Hi-Fi Rush was just a God damn blast and was worth every screamin' freedom eagle I spent on it. It's so full of charm and brings me back to the heyday of the PS2 era of gaming.

2023-11-14 05:01:56 +0000 UTCAlan Wake 2, it just feels so intentional and fine tuned in it's storytelling, cutscene direction and setpiece design like its been precision machined into exactly the game Remedy wanted to make. From how the world in certain sections loops back in on itself to the billion layers of meta narrative to the tons of glimpses of tiny little details that you could very easily miss if you aren't paying attention or if you haven't played other Remedy games, and as a huge fan of all of those things it really just played perfectly to the things i love in games and storytelling in general and its also so nice to have a big linear AAA release that actually feels new and interesting and fresh. Not to mention the super cool tech holding up stuff like instant teleports to the Mind Place/Writer's Room and Alan's lamp mechanic.
