We wrapped on Day 3, and on the whole episode! Whew!
I've done something quite interesting with this one! Most of the episode is shot on the white void - a deliberate aesthetic choice, for reasons you'll understand when you watch it!
It's kindof nostalgic being back on a white background in my own clothes lol
I know you like it when I actually have the physical books I've read and show them on camera, so this time I brought lots!
The material we'll cover is very dense, but I'm so proud of the script - it's a banger, and it'll move at a good pace too. I'm anticipating this episode will be about an hour long, maybe just over? Get your guesses in now and I'll let you know when I've edited it!

2024-06-04 16:08:27 +0000 UTCI just watched on Nebula and I am looking forward to the bibliography on YouTube. I picked up Gender Trouble thinking Butler was pop philosophy for the general audience. I failed to understand Butler is a rare academic author that gets buzz when they drop a new book. Thank you for an introduction. It is interesting to see that Helicopter Story by Isabel Fall uses gender in the same way Butler did.

I had been on the path for a while but seeing so much of myself in you, it definitely impacted me when you transitioned. I’m settling in to myself now and I’ve wondered what the future really holds. I’d given up on family, but with my new life and new community it no longer feels impossible. But I have career goals too. To do educational philosophical videos actually, like Carl Sagan, or like you. I’d been worried I wouldn’t have the time to do all that and build family, or that my career would flop after transition. But I look at you and what you’re saying and by the end of the video I was crying. I had this feeling that is scary but relieving at the same time that maybe I will grow old, and maybe these things will happen, and maybe I don’t have to keep being afraid. Thank you so much for this one. I think this might be your best work yet. Thank you, genuinely. I hope to grow old watching you grow old.
