Donating All My Merch Money

Hello lovely people!

I like to keep you all in the loop financially, so here's a post about money and what I'm doing with it!

In its first month my merch store made about £5000, which is amazing! It will almost certainly never make this much again since the initial rush of people who were waiting for merch is now done. I've decided not to keep that money - not because I don't need it (in fact I do!) but because I just don't particularly want merch sales to be part of my regular income. I don't want to have to always be plugging it or endlessly pushing it on people - I want it to stay as a nice fun thing for those that want it. So here's where that money is going:

- £2500 I have put aside so I can start paying taxes
- £500 to Sisters Uncut, an activist group fighting austerity in the UK and in particular its effects on women
- £500 to the Alzheimer's Society, a dementia charity close to my heart
- £500 to Laura, a trans woman in Sheffield raising money for transition costs
- £500 to the Newcastle Theatre Royal Trust, one of my favourite theatres in my hometown
- £250 to buy presents for the mods who helped out with the Shakespeare Stream
- £250 to North East London Migrant Action, an activist group defending migrants' rights

I tried to pick a mix of causes and types of groups and spread the love around; many of these causes shouldn't really need charities in an ideal world but I hope my donations can still do good. In terms of Patreon income I'm doing okay - I live in one of the world's most expensive cities and thanks to all your generosity I'm surviving from month to month with most of your pledges going back into the show and the rest going on living costs.

As always I am extremely grateful for your support: I couldn't make the show without it!
