Behind-the-Scenes Photos: 'Abortion & Ben Shapiro'

Hello lovely Patrons!

I've just wrapped on my next video, working title Abortion and Ben Shapiro. (At the moment that title is a secret from the general public, otherwise my Twitter will absolutely blow up.) Here are some behind-the-scenes photos from the sets!

I used my regular studio for some of it, and for my presenter persona I wore my new suit, which I'm inordinately pleased about :P

I was honoured that conservative superstar Tom Gently, host of The Tom Gently Show, was able to appear in this episode! I used a darker-than-skin-tone concealer around my eyes to make them appear sunken, and darkened my eyebrows with shadow to make him look meaner. 

We also used a second location: a medical-themed playroom in a BDSM dungeon that I hired for the day!

This was my first time using proper practical effects; I used surgical tubing and fake blood to create these attachments, which you can see here being taped to my back

It was quite a demanding shoot, very physically and emotionally exhausting.

I spent most of the afternoon on Day 1 handcuffed to that bed with a double behind me, and it got quite painful. That's a LIFX bulb throwing out the green light.

As you can see, it's a video of two quite tonally different halves...

The lighting on the Tom Gently show is low down to emphasise his cheekbones, giving him a very stern look. By now you can also tell that purple and green were the main colours I wanted to work with.

Tom Gently isn't the only character in this episode - The Arsonist (from my Steve Bannon video) is back, and somehow even more sinister than ever. You'll learn a bit more about him, assuming anything he says about himself is true of course...

The scene between Tom and the Arsonist ended up a lot darker than it seemed on the page: I think it'll end up genuinely quite distressing...

Of the two, playing the Arsonist was the least demanding because he's high-status and is having an easy time of it, for the most part...

Whereas it was hard to be Tom for extended periods of time, not just physically, but emotionally too. For Tom's dungeon look I used my normal natural makeup and then layered white matte over the top blended in to make him pale, with red shadow around the eyes and onto the nose to make him look tired and sick. No shadow in the eyebrows this time: he's not mean, he's fighting for his life.

As opposed to here, where Tom is very put together with no idea what horrors are about to befall him...

This video will be out by the end of the month: it's going to be a tough edit, both technically and because I've got a lot of personal and professional stuff going on in my life right now, but I will have screenshots for you soon!
