Added 2019-02-16 16:23:21 +0000 UTCI’m at VidCon London this weekend, and every time I come to industry events like this I’m overwhelmingly grateful for all of you and your help making the show. First of all because it’s great fun and I wouldn’t get to do it if not for you, but also because there’s a lot of industry anxiety and worry about technical details - a lot of stuff about ‘how to precisely curate your thumbnail’ or ‘how to use your analytics to maximise viewers’ - and a lot of that comes from a place of maximising clicks to get ad revenue, unstandably.
But the amazing thing about having all of your help on Patreon is that I don’t have to worry about that stuff as much. Of course I do a bit, but I can focus on just making the stuff that I think is good rather than reducing it to quantifiable metrics like ‘The face must occupy 1/3 of the thumbnail,’ which I don’t think would be, personally, a happy or inspiring way to do what I do. Your help gives me this wonderful, wonderful atmosphere in which to create and I’m so grateful to all of your for enabling me to do it.

Thank you for your content; keep being you, Olly! This world needs it. And, here's to the day when the idea of *any* creator having such non-craft-based concerns will seem impossible!
