Unfortunately it seems that I never saved the rough draft, so I'm just gonna jump straight into the linework. As you can see, this is just a portrait piece, so I had a lot of room to play with the details of her face and really get into it with her hair.
Here I just added the base colours and a very strong shadow to her left side. I did this to make the piece a bit more interesting and to get some really deep contrast between light and dark.
Before I added in the shadows, I played around with some warm and cold colours to really sell her skin tone. I added a lot of warmer colours to add a nice contrast to the cool background.
Here I added in the hard and soft shadows. Notice that these shadows aren't completely as dark as the large shadow on her left side. They also aren't all hard shadows, because they fade in some places on the rounder body parts.
Here I added the reflective light and the highlights in her hair. After this step I added the final highlights and cum to finish off the piece.
Honestly, this is my favorite piece to date, and I really think that I've finally found a style that I can get settled in.
