Hey guys. Here's the work in progress pics for Katara. Let's jump right into it!

As per usual, I just start off with a rough drawing. Something new that I tried in this one was having it from a more bird's eye view

Here I did the final linework, base colours and basic shadows. This was one of the unique occasions that I actually picked the right colours from the start, which is something I almost never do. As you can see, I added a random big-ass shadow at the bottom just to add some more contrast and bring the focus higher.

Here I defined the shading properly. Notice that there is a much more red-ish hue to her skin than in the previous pic. This is something that I can't stress enough; SKIN ISN'T JUST ONE COLOUR!!! You gotta play around on your colour wheel when you do the shading for skin. As a general rule, when it gets darker, add a bit more red.

Here I did the same with her hair. Remember that hair is a very reflective surface, but only in some parts. Mostly where the hair curves, you'll see a lot of reflective light bundled up there. I also added some cool reflective light on her right side. Other than that I added the light to her skin. I also finished the background layer. Not much else to say, really ^ ^
