Coming in late on this one but the history nerd in me is compelled to comment about the references in this episode! The phrase “what has happened before will happen again” comes up many times in B*G and the show frequently references real life events. This episode the scene where the colonial marines open fire on a rowdy crowd throwing coffee is an analog to the Boston Massacre, where British soldiers haphazardly opened fire on an angry crowd throwing snowballs. The second historical reference was Callie rushing out to shoot Boomer as she’s being led away in cuffs after an in this case attempted assassination is a reference to Lee Harvey Oswald being shot and killed by Jack Ruby (who definitely maybe obviously maybe sorta kinda been involved with a cabal of organized crime, Cuban anti-communists, and intelligence ghouls) while he was being led out in handcuffs after assassinating JFK.
