Best part about this episode 4 in the fight with Tanjiro vs Bird Joy was the realism of that fight there was no "Water Breathing number 1" skill throwing and then water animations, but the fight was actually pretty realistic with him trying to cut flying demon monster with his sword skills. That kind of situation would be really hard to fight against a opponen who can fly as it's so different from normal fight against a opponent who is on the ground like him. PS. From your ending talks don't go too realistic for this kind of shounen anime as it really doesn't work thinking like how you thought about child soldier analogy for this situation. Even if I could argue with you for the time period was so totally different from our time.
