Really interesting insight, especially when you mentioned seeing him as someone who has potentially been abused. I remember back when these episodes first came out a lot of people (me included) saw them as traitors- nothing more, nothing less. I love the more empathetic approach that you're taking. As I've matured with this series, that is an approach that I tend to lean towards now.

So Armin did give up his "humanity" in a sense, because he used the secret feelings of Berthold, knowing it would hurt him
