After those initial WTF moments from both Ilse's Notebook and S02E01, we then get to follow some of the recruits while they evacuate the nearby towns. One person in particular, Sasha, comes face to face with both the past and the horrible reality of the present, when she goes back to the place she grew up in.

2021-11-26 21:41:26 +0000 UTCIn that specific flashback with Sasha, Ymir and Christa ,i think it makes more sense to japanese speakers/people who understand japanese ,at first i couldnt understand what they were talking about since i dont speak the langague . So i googled what exactly they were refere to. When sasha enlisted she started talking in formal way ,like speaking very respecfully to others,including the animals? using like honorifics and stuff like that ,maybe becuase she actually felt embarrased or out of the place ~ Thats why Ymir said "You're fine as is ,so talk in your own way " , Ymir certantly sounds and acts like a meany but i think shes just a caracther that is quite hard to understand at first ~

2021-11-26 20:42:26 +0000 UTCI love Sasha, especially in this scene. If you speak Japanese you already noticed very early on that Sasha had huge trouble "talking" the way she did. It felt very unnatural; sentences are very "elaborate" for nothing, so you could guess she was forcing herself to speak another way. I loved how it was made into the anime, the voice actress even changed her tone and confidence between the way of talking.
