Sounds like the writer's self insert and is still bitter about high school. A way to salvage it is it turns out Starfire isn't her birth mother. This gremlin was actually an only surviving failed clone of Starfire. Everyone else was like, "This thing will not survive long with all of these defects. We should just put it out of its misery." Starfire respond with something like, "We don't know that for sure. We should give it a chance. I will raise it." Maybe this gremlin will learn a less about not being such a bitch to the ones that were there for them and raised them.
