She was abducted by mutants under the command of "Dr." and taken hostage to lure Blaze out.
She is held captive in a hospital in the "city", but she encourages the other hostages with her natural cheerfulness and devotion.

Her character is inherited directly from his father's generosity and his mother's devotion.
Her personality is equal parts free-spiritedness and altruism,
and she has the fortunate fate to be allowed to be somewhat of a pushover.
Based on a story her mother, Sayohara Yuki, told her once, she has no doubt that a hero will appear.
She is a fearless person by nature, but this conviction supports her stoutness.
She is not at all afraid of Blaze, because her brother looks like Blaze.
This is not surprising, since Shiori Asahi's brother was the product of a one-time love affair between young Blaze and Sayohara Yuki.
After Sayohara Yuki disappeared from Blaze's life, she bore and raised Blaze's child on her own.
She later married Kyoichi Asahi, a pediatrician, and a few years later gave birth to Shiori.

The design was left entirely to the illustrator Yakisoba Omori, and a very cute girl was born.
I love the vigor of her hair and the "slightly upper class girl" look of her school uniform.
Initially, there was an idea that the hostage would be the son of Blaze and Sayohara Yuki, and that Blaze would hide the fact that he is his father and save his son.
However, I thought that it was natural for a father to save his child in a sense, and also a little different from what a hero should do.
The result was "he rescues the daughter of his first love but is not rewarded, but his hesitation is blown away and he becomes a full-fledged hero.
I now think that this was the right decision.
