Nocturtle
Added 2014-09-30 04:28:48 +0000 UTCA concept I've been kicking around for updating the vampire type, Nocturtle. Its current version, with a shell made of giant barnacles, just feels a little redundant with some other monsters. But what if its shell were like a cave? And it was filled with tiny symbiotic mutant vampire bats? Spookier, vampire-ier, and not something I've seen done in a turtle monster before.

You know, I think you should just have two turtle monsters. The matamata one as a vampire, and the snapping turtle as something else. For the snapping turtle, maybe you can go back to its basic roots and give it a swarm of leeches again. You can reference the fact that turtle leeches brood their young. You can do a 2 for 1 special and have a leech replace its tongue as a reference to both cymathoa and the fact alligator snapping turtles have a wormlike lure attached to their tongue.

2014-10-01 02:26:35 +0000 UTCI'm not sure what you mean. The shell is already part of its body, and since it is a vampirized matamata it would retain a shell even if it no longer functioned effectively as armor.
