Added 2024-06-22 01:05:54 +0000 UTCTalita TIG welds some aluminum plating here. It was replaced because the original plates were bent and peventing the radiator joint from extending. The human-scale torch is kinda hilariously tiny in her giant oversuit welding gloves.

I love the commentary; this is what the folks at Workshops for Warriors have told me. Machines are fine with predictable, tedious, repetitive processes. But the minute you need to execute something based on a story ("How do I get these pieces to fit together in this really strange physical space", for example), you need people.

Or just looked very closely at reference pics -is there some kind of atmosphere? Because to arc weld you need gas to ionize for the arc to pass through. A TIG torch supplies some gas but in a hard vacuum it would dissapate really fast." I couldn't remember if dirtball had some thin atmosphere or not lol.

I won't need my interest in housing patterns in Roman architecture for a while, I'll just leave not only my accumulated knowledge but the actual interest itself behind for the moment." And then re-integrating it when I get access to proper infrastructure back!
