The Scud Cycle

But it's also something I've wanted to hammer out for a while. Scuds have an alternating generation lifecycle and the sophont scud is essentially wind-pollinated by planktonic scuds. Kids get a third of their genetics from their birth parent, and third from two other anonymous donors generally upcurrent of whoever laid the eggs.

I think about that tree-fertilized creature that reproduces by seeding forests which you came up with... preeeeetty regularly. It's just so cool!!! And I love the goofy puppy-pawed baby scuds <3
