Drawing these complex environments to set the scene has been fun but I admit I'm looking forward to the next seven pages of talking heads inside an environment I've already modeled. I've gotten so much better at Blender though. Look, I can make chairs! Wowie!

I would rather my stuff look dated eventually than make all of the appliances odd shapes to disguise the what they are. With the TV specifically I haaaaate the aesthetic future shorthand of holographic screens that's really popular nowadays, (who is clamoring for translucent screens). There is some odd stuff under the surface though, like all of the wood items actually being fungus that's grown in shapes. Tree wood is an expensive luxury item in space. Most of these items were manufactured in the Jupiter system and shipped to Dirtball.

I remember thinking this in the comic with baby Talita, where they use what just looks like basic google to look up info about her, but I love the idea that even in the SPACE FUTURE, we keep using the tools and aesthetics that make sense to us now. It's almost a little unbelievable that the TV looks exactly like mine, and the fridge looks the same. This is like the most familiar room in the world. But it's on a space mining facility, lol. It's a refreshing way to think about sci-fi. Were these things manufactured on Earth/elsewhere and then shipped in?
