Aftershock - A Week of Masks 10-14

Mask10
Working Title:
The Veil Between
Description: Cloaked in draped fringe like ceremonial hair or a mourning shroud, this mask feels suspended between softness and sorrow. One eye spirals inward while the other gazes outward--witness and mystery. It holds the frief of becoming, layered with beauty, burden and cycles that never quite close.
Verse:
" A curtain of silver and dusk,
I stood between the worlds.
Too visible to vanish,
too quiet to belong.

Mask11
Working Title:
The Quiet Weight
Description: Nearly featureless in its shadows, this mask is heavy with silence. The black fibers pull downward like gravity itself, broken only by thin, glimmering seams of gold. Its surface absorbs light, memory, and noise. You have to lean in to notice the shape of sorrow.
Verse:
"Soft as nightfall,
I carried what I could not say.
Threaded in hush,
my pain learned to glitter."

Mask12
Working Title:
Glimmer Beneath Ice
Description: This mask evokes a frozen kingdom--cool blue velvets, glacial textures, and embroidery that sparkles like frost-kissed blossoms. It feels guarded but not cold; behnd its softness and shimmer is a quiet resilience. A breath held in winter.
Verse:
"Stillness is not silence.
Behind each bead and bloom,
a storm awaits,
watching through ice-laced lashes."

Mask13
Working Titles:
Ascension Ritual
Description: Crowned in seafoam and blush, this mask is the ceremonial twin to Mask06--a metamorphosis marked not just by butterflies but by elevation. The tiara of jewels and feathers signals emergence, a sacred claiming of self after softness. Where Mask06 whispered transformation, this one procliamit.
Verse:
"First, I grew wings.
Then, I remembered my throne.
Soft is not small.
Gentle is not quiet.
I rise, adorned by everything I was told to shed."

Mask14
Working Titles:
The Regression Spell
Description: A pastel creature of contradictions--bubblegum braids and crystal tiaras allude to innocence, but the mouth is sealed with silver. This mask explores enforced cuteness, infantilization, and the uneasy comfort of retreat. It whispers of regression not as freedom, but as survival.
Verse:
"I dressed myself in childhood to feel sale again.
But even there, they watched me.
Even there, I wasn't allowed to speak.
I hid behind sweetness,
but I never stopped screaming."
