Fearsome Wyrm
Added 2018-10-24 20:00:00 +0000 UTCI was thinking about the wyrms of gnomeworld (I've only drawn doodles of them so far), who are like big river otters with tiny skink limbs. They fill a sort of, sea serpent/river monster role, and though they are fairly social they aren't sapient like gnomes and dragons. They don't make a habit of hunting gnomes like some dragons do, but they will pick off an unlucky few every year in addition to a diet of aquatic critters and birds.
The individual drawn is a very old and battle-scarred female wyrm who lives in a seacave across from a swimmer gnome colony. The gnome sailors tell of her battling blue dragons and sinking ships.

It's always the cute monsters that get you, because hypnotized with adoration, you forget that running is the only survivable option.
