I've Been Reincarnated As A Summoned Beast: Chapter 7

Zero

That night I stayed out in the forest just behind Euphy’s estate, located right next to the Oversight guild building. I wanted to give her some time to get her mind right, and I thought it would be nice to sleep under the stars of a new sky. Of course, Kyomi was huddled right next to me as if trying to get all my warmth.

I just don’t know how to feel about her affection. I’m not sexually attracted to her form at all, but I do find her very cute. The hypocrisy in that statement is truly mind-blowing with how I’ve pushed myself onto Euphy since I’ve been summoned.

The idea of a sexual relationship with Euphy would never happen unless I got a half-human form in the future. But there's no guarantee that will even happen. I might just have to settle for this cute fox who’s currently pleading with me to cover her up with my tails. It’s weird how I can just understand what she wants without her speaking. Is our connection truly that deep?

Ever since Kyomi received my soul link and gained a second tail, I’ve had to keep her absolute zero under control. Euphy could have been frozen solid earlier if I didn’t keep freezing Kyomi to keep her ice in check.

I was surprised how weak Euphy’s resistance to ice had become in only a matter of hours. From just one incident, she starts fearing me instead of trying to understand why I did it. There’s no way I could live under human rules after the hell I just lived through for the past twenty years. Even though I had become the top of the food chain in that world, I could never truly feel relaxed.

The night here was very similar to my first world, where I was a human. There are so many stars shining in the blackness of the night sky instead of the red death that was the atmosphere of my last world.

Our position was on top of a large rock that allowed for both of us at our current size to be comfortable without falling off. It also gave us a good view of our surroundings. I wonder if this is my first world but way into the future or if this is somewhere else entirely.

Everywhere I look, I see holograms and high-tech machinery. The lights in the city envelop everything and everyone around them. It’s a very beautiful sight with many different hologram ads flickering on and off throughout the city.

Mew… Churr…

Kyomi sure does make a lot of noise when she sleeps, making it very hard to close my eyes. She has many different types of squealing noises, giving off the feel that she’s possibly having a nightmare. I had to gently nudge her a few times to give me some peace and quiet to finally get a few hours of sleep.

It was a long night of waking her up periodically. I would try to create a little space to get more comfortable, but when she woke up, Kyomi would bury herself back into me. After a little while, I got annoyed with her actions and tied her up in my seven tails, allowing her to use them as a bed. Once she was snugly tightened within them, she slept like a log.

Who would have thought she would feel so safe and sleep pleasantly in that kind of position? She literally couldn't move at all, being tightly secured.

Right before the sun was about to crest on the horizon, I heard many different howls and roars in the distance. It sounded as if a brutal fight was taking place between two opposing forces. It was only a few miles away, deeper into the forest.

This was the perfect opportunity to gather more life force and work towards my eighth tail. Quickly jumping to my feet, I headed in that direction as I felt Kyomi stir awake still within my tails. Without a second thought, I stopped quickly, releasing her and bolting in the direction of my newly found prey. Hopefully she will be alright for a little while; I don't want to bring her to a battlefield.

It didn’t take much time at all to cover that distance before I could finally make out what was happening. There was a rip in space with multiple hostiles coming through who were riding on top of different types of beasts as mounts.

They had all types of different weapons connected to their bodies, including knives, guns, rifles, swords, spears, etc.

What I didn’t expect upon arriving were a few maids I had seen earlier at the Hawthorne estate. Wait; are these the invaders that I learned about, and did they already sack the place where Euphy lives? How on earth did I not pick up on any of this? Were they just so weak that I wouldn't be stirred awake because they were no threat?

With no time to understand what the current situation was, I burst out with my seven tails worth of power and charged into the camp. My clear blue aura emanating from my body and the cold in the air becoming hostile to any living being began to envelop the whole area.

I didn’t grow to my full size but to a much more manageable one that was about the size of a mini bus. This allowed for much better agility with a smaller frame, but it was still very intimidating for the enemies upon noticing me.

My first swing of my ice claws that were covered in my absolute zero cut the rider and the beast into many pieces as they were cleaved right through. The feeling of life force once again being pulled into my body was something that I hadn’t felt for a while.

After I made my way through a few more of these invaders who came from beyond the rift in space, I heard many bangs from rifles and the snap of string from bows, all coming in my direction.

Instead of trying to dodge all the incoming projectiles, I exuded my element in all directions, freezing everything solid as it spread out. I watched on as all hostile attempts to harm me were completely nullified as soon as they touched my ice.

That was until a very powerful presence, something that even dwarfed anything I found in my past world, sent a powerful attack in my direction. I watched as the red cylindrical force impacted my ice barrier I placed around myself for anti-magic and ranged attack protection.

It had almost no effect as the fiery spell cut through my element, aiming right for my head. Before it made impact, my instincts were invoked in a way where the attack would move right past me without injury.

I could feel the radiating heat coming off the magic spell, hotter than anything I’ve ever felt. If what I was sensing from this man was true, he was either right below or on the same level of power as my own. His threat level was something I hadn’t felt for many years, and the only way I could kill him for sure was using my frenzy skill.

Killing off all the trash would increase my power enough to handle this guy without much issue, or at least it should, in theory.

As I was contemplating my next move, I was completely surrounded by many different types of beasts you would find around the world and some I’d never seen before. Every single one of them had a rider with a three-to four-tail threat level when you compare it to my own strength.

My greatest advantage is the terrain I can control when I’m vs. a huge force. With a quick thought, my icy death covered the area in one to two inches of frost. Creating a climate where I was the only one who could travel at high speeds with my powerful control over my element.

Everyone else present was having a hard time finding their balance in the new world I just brought them into. It will turn into their frozen graves very shortly after they’re massacred with extreme ferocity. I had no interest in listening to the babble of the riders upon their mounts speaking in a language I couldn’t understand.

Launching myself at another enemy, I continued through them like flowing water as I cleaved my way to higher power to overwhelm the one with great strength compared to the rest. The rate at which I devour their life force increases greatly when I’m in this state, but it’s hard to get myself to stop.

That’s what gave me such a wide berth later on in life; it was my frenzy skill that caused many different species to go extinct. I could spend weeks at a time just killing everything I came upon because I couldn’t break myself out of it. Let’s just hope it doesn’t come to that in my current world.

After a few minutes of subzero temperature and frost thoroughly blanketing the area, not one person or beast could move besides the strong one. I used this state of the invaders to swipe and claw at anything and everything I could see until there was nothing left.

I felt my rage bubble up as my vision started to become a crimson red as the overall power of each swing of my paws increased exponentially. Each body would shatter upon contact, sending frozen blood and body parts in all directions.

As my massacre was taking place, I felt the last remaining enemy move extremely quickly in the direction I first arrived from. My predator instincts took over, causing me to instantly shatter the ground with the force of multiple tons of TNT.

My mentality was barely holding on as I chased him down, finding that his strength was a lot higher than his speed, making him an easier prey. Suddenly, he stopped, and at the same time, I heard a "yelp!"

The man turned back to me with Kyomi in his arms and a blade slightly piercing her neck. It seems she couldn't wait there and tried to find me; I guess I can't really blame her because of my sudden actions. She was probably confused, but at the same time, if she's inherited my skills, shouldn't she be able to tell the threat level of this place?

"Stop, beast, or I will kill it!" The man roared with indignation. Then his eyes widened as if he just realized something. "So… You're the anomaly?"

What the fuck is he talking about? I just stared at him blankly as I tried to communicate with Kyomi to try and release as much cold as she could. If she could dull his reactions even a little, I should be able to interrupt this man before he takes her head.

"You better come quietly, beast, or your summoner will die." He said with a laugh as if it was already a done deal. "Right now the Oversight guild is being thrashed, looking for the one named Euphemia. But, at the same time, they also plan to eradicate her whole family just in case.

As my frenzy state started to release and the gained power deteriorated, my mind was in turmoil at his words. Is that really true? At the same time, I couldn't help but wonder how they would actually defend against these invaders with much higher skill gaps.

The ones I just took down could completely dominate those I felt in the oversight training area yesterday. So, that means if I don't get there quickly, Euphy could get taken or killed. There was no reason to talk to this guy, as I had no way to communicate; my telepathy only worked with Kyomi and Euphy.

I had to strike before my frenzy skill wore off. Noticing the aura coming off of Kyomi and the chilly air surrounding her and the man, I smiled.

'Do it!' I yelled within Kyomi's mind.

She exploded out with absolute zero, creating the same foggy atmosphere as I did at the summoning. Without any hesitation, she bit down hard on the man's arm that was holding the sword towards her.

I instantly pounced on the man, aiming right for his midsection that I planned to bite clean through. Before my impact, I felt a sudden invisible wall stop my progress as I saw Kyomi get dropped to the ground. My face got suddenly pushed up as the rest of my body impacted the barrier.

Within a few seconds, it suddenly shattered as I got diverted to the right as I plowed through. I chomped down on his right arm as I flew past his stationary position. At the same time, I clawed at his back, creating a massive imprint running down the full length.

Once I landed a little distance away, I hurriedly blinked with high speed, putting myself in between Kyomi and the man.

A rip in space appeared out of nowhere with a high level of pressure, forcing me into the ground as if my legs gave out on me. Without hesitation, the man who just lost an arm and was bleeding profusely from his back jumped into the rift, closing quickly behind him.

What in the hell was that? I could feel more than ten existences behind the rift in space that would rip me apart. I wonder why they didn't try to come through. It's useless to think about it now with Euphy in danger and not even having the strength to confront whatever that was.
