My Covenant - The Vicious Vampire Queen: Chapter 14

Selene

I watched on as both of them looked at each other, unwilling to be the first person to speak. They don’t really have a choice because this is happening whether they agree to it or not. That’s when I saw out of the corner of my eye one of the ladies watching, stand up and walk in my direction.

She had bluish-silver hair with green eyes. The way she walked gave off the impression that she was lacking a lot in confidence. Her hands were shifting all around her body as she made her way towards us. One side of her face was covered by hair while her visible eye looked down.

“I volunteer…”

Before she could get out the rest of her words, I interrupted, “For tribute?” I giggled to myself, amused.

Sadly, I was the only one present who understood the joke. She looked at me in shock, as if I had said something outrageous. Maybe she took the word tribute a bit too seriously. After her initial expression, it turned into one of acceptance; she was ready to give up on her own life.

She stopped right in front of us while still looking down. The two older ladies were staring at her with passionate eyes. I’m sure they're thinking they will get out of this because of her.

“So… you volunteered yourself for tribute, Katniss Everdeen.” I gave another chuckle at my stupid joke, which I was the only one in on. “Hehehe”

“Umm… That’s right, but my name is Gwen Barlow.” She said timidly.

“Oh, don’t worry about my words, Gwen; it was just a joke.” My eyes couldn’t help but look her up and down; it seemed like something was wrong with her body. The way she talked, walked, and carried herself was just all wrong. “Are you okay?” I couldn’t help but ask. My curiosity was piqued.

Everyone in the room looked at me in utter shock as if I wasn’t capable of understanding someone’s well-being. There was just something about her that screamed at me. Not in the same way as Shuka, but in another way. Gwen’s’ whole demeanor exclaimed, abused.

She looked up at me, and at the same time, I’m sure she saw the scary girl behind me raising her aura. “I—I will do it.” Gwen said softly.

“Why are you willing to be the guinea pig for everyone else?” I asked quizzically.

“Because… I’m at a dead end.” Gwen said with sadness

“A dead end, you say?” So it’s worse than I first expected. “Could you elaborate on that?”

“Umm… Whether I die right now or tomorrow, my life will surely end soon. This was the last chance to get into my father’s good graces before he disowns me, getting thrown into the streets.”

The room was silent at Gwen’s words, but at the same time it was obvious everyone in the room knew about her fate. When I made eye contact with anyone present, they would turn away as fast as they could, unwilling to add anything to the girl’s words.

If I had to make an educated guess, her mother must be a mistress of the father, or she’s the cause of her mother’s death because of her birth. One of those stupid reasons you always read about in stories where one of the children gets terrorized in a noble family without any remorse.

“So… what is it that you had to accomplish so your father wouldn’t kick you out?” I genuinely wanted to hear this answer just to reinforce my hatred for the breed that is a noble.

“I had to become close friends with the seventh princess and possibly establish a marriage with her brother.” Gwen glanced at the window where the trash from before was thrown out.

“Hehehe whoops!” I shrugged my shoulders. “I guess you’re pretty fucked now then, Gwen.” My words emphasized her name greatly. “But what if I told you I had a way to pay back that father of yours? How about we just go take everything from him and give it to you? How does that sound?”

After my words, I stand up and walk to where Gwen was currently, brushing her hair aside, revealing what she was currently hiding. She had a massive gash to the side of her eye that looked very similar to a burn mark. I’m very curious how that could happen, but at the same time I can understand why she’s acting the way she does.

I’m sure there’s still even more. Gwen put both of her hands up in a frenzy to try to hide her appearance from everyone in the room. Many saw her disfigured face.

“Restrain her hands behind her back and turn her towards everyone in the room, Shuka.” This was a great chance to prove a point.

Shuka tied up Gwen’s arms with her own, forcing them behind her back. I once again pull her hair to the side, uncovering the mortal sin of any noble lady trying to enter the marriage market. Having their face branded by a deep burn mark would obviously destroy their chances of having any worthwhile companion.

“Please… Don’t…” Gwen pleaded with me as she struggled frantically to get out of Shuka’s hold.

“I’m sure many of you here know who this girl is and the reason behind why she’s like this. You probably couldn’t care less, but what if this was your daughter? What if you didn’t get so lucky as to be born into or get an arranged marriage granting you a privileged life? How could anyone truly look down on this brave girl, who still tries to go out even with something like this?”

That’s when I heard what I was hoping for. Even though I feel badly for using Gwen in this way, I wanted to weed out the pieces of human trash in this room before I showed them The Garden of Eden.

“She’s an outcast to her own family; why should we care about her?”

“Couldn’t even manage to get a marriage offer because of her disgusting looks; why should we feel any guilt over that?

“I’ve seen her going to parties, but she never once even tried to socialize; she’s just deadweight in our society.”

“A girl who sits in the corner trying to avoid everyone in the room deserves our support?”

Many different opinions were mumbled throughout the room as I listened in on every single one of them. They didn't realize it right now, but for many ladies within this room, they just signed their death warrants. It could also be because I really wanted to kill a few more nobles, and arrogant ladies are the perfect target.

“HAHA… HAHAHA!” I laugh maniacally, overshadowing everyone’s low voices within the room. “Thank you so much for not disappointing my expectations for the type of people you truly are.”

My body starts to glow a crimson red as many small red-shaped objects start floating around my body. It was similar to the red-like bullet I used the other day against the Pope, but more refined with a few more levels in chaos magic.

Once I got up to the desired number of projectiles, I let them fly.

Swoosh Squish

Multiple women around the room gasped as they were impacted by my powerful, compacted magic shots. Each one of them now had a hole at the very center of their forehead tunneling all the way through to the other side.

Just like that, the about twenty women in the room turned into just under ten. They really should have learned time and place when they opened their mouth.

Screaming and crying were heard throughout the room as the survivors of my attack started begging for their lives.

“Please don’t kill us!” They all repeated in a deafening echo.

“Shut up!” I roared to quiet down all the loudmouth ladies. “If I wanted you dead, it would have already been done. Let’s just say you're all very lucky you didn’t talk about Gwen under your breath, or you would have shared their fate. I at least want to have some kind of standards for the people I bring under me.”

Looking over at the now mortified girl still struggling in Shuka’s arms, I couldn’t help but sigh as Gwen had a conflicted look on her face. This girl was someone who had given up on her life. Why is she trying so hard to hide her face? Also, does she actually care for the fate of the people in this room?

Is she one of those women in a story where she’s uselessly nice to everyone even if she was getting brutally beaten? I couldn’t help but stare at her back as a piece of her dress was ripped away. Of course, just as I thought as I gazed at her bare back.

Multiple marks of some kind of lashing weapon appeared all over. Most of them looked to be old wounds, but some were fresh as if they were done before she arrived today.

“Gwen! I’m disappointed in you. What’s up with your current gaze? Are you actually feeling sorry for these people?” My stare was sharp as I got a few inches away from her face. “They would care less if you died in a ditch.”

I watch on with her downtrodden demeanor. As if she would fight for someone who just did her great harm? Let’s find out what happens with this type of personality, who then receives power they could only dream of.

Without any word or warning, as Shuka was still holding her in place, I sunk my fangs into her neck as I made eye contact with Shuka. We gaze lovingly at each other as I see a slight smirk at my actions. I’m glad she’s not jealous of Gwen, but I’m sure she can also tell this girl isn’t my type. But she could be used as a great subordinate in the future, hopefully.

Let’s just destroy the family that abused her and then place Gwen in that role for the future. She can just become the new heir of the family and also the only living member, hehehe.

Since I’ve contributed a lot to my ranking recently, it’s a good time to check out my progress for my soul book.

As I expected, my percentage for Baron has greatly increased. I wonder if those two guys I turned the other day are enjoying themselves. I couldn’t help but smirk at the thought. They could now just turn a beautiful woman to become theirs and finally lose that v-card.

I wonder what happens when my ranking turns into viscount. Will I get some cool new ability? I can only hope!

Clang Stomp Smash

Before I could even interact with the now-dominated Gwen, many different sounds started coming from below us. It kept creeping closer and closer as everyone stayed silent, listening in anticipation for what was about to shove open that door.

“Haha, now you’re screwed. That’s probably the knight order of the city coming for your heads.” One of the older ladies said in a provocative tone. They both had faces that said, ‘We will surely get out of here.’

Before I could react, Shuka pierced both of their chests with her now protruding claws, impaling their bodies. She lifted both of them up into the air as they gradually slid down her incredibly sharp claws, cutting both bodies into multiple layers. That action increased the volume of the room greatly as everyone started to run and scream, seeking safety.

The once beautifully decorated room for a noble party was now a bloody mess straight out of a horror movie. After those two died, I felt an incredible change within my body. Looking at my now one hundred percent completion state for Baron, I smiled.

“Shit’s about to get real!” I said as both mine and Shuka’s bodies erupted with a sinister reddish aura that destroyed everything within our surroundings.
