My Covenant - The Vicious Vampire Queen: Chapter 13

Selene

After a long while of laughter, I finally calmed down and studied my sister’s face. I remember that I had tried on more than one occasion to be close to her, but I was always shut down. Never once did she give me the time of day, preferring to shun me along with the eighth princess.

Because my mother wasn’t one of the four wives, I was seen as lesser than any of the other royal children. My mother was just trying to do her job in the castle, and then some horny piece of shit comes along ruining her life. But that did bring me into this world, and she claimed to be alright with what happened in the end.

That doesn’t mean I can forgive him, though. Not to mention everything that piece-of-trash father put me through. The first time I saw my father’s face, he was ordering my death. Screw that guy!

“Well, isn’t this funny, dear sister?” I said with malice.

“Sister… What are you talking about?” She looked dumbfounded at my words.

“I remember it like yesterday. When I approached you hoping I could finally get along with someone in that dumpster fire of a castle. While it’s true we’re not full sisters, we’re at least half. But you saw me as an eyesore and didn’t want me to show up in front of your friends. Beyond even that, you had your maids rough me up to push me away.” My voice was icy as I watch Shuka push her head violently into the ground.

“You’re the ninth princess?” She mumbled her words because of the pressure Shuka was putting on her. The wolf girl was showing the will to kill and mutilate her body just like those three men from before. She’s cute as always, I thought to myself.

“In the flesh, although you would probably rather see me dead, right?”

“That’s not true!” Calista screamed out.

“Oh really, so was I just mistakenly getting kicked in the face and body by your maids?” The sarcasm in my voice was thick.

“I was told to do it by my mother. If I actually befriended you, I would get her wrath and my brother's. My mother has already died for her stupidity, so justice has been served.”

“Justice you say… While I find it funny that your mother has died, it was not by my hands. I just can’t help but feel annoyed by that. You say she forced you to do it; does that make everything alright?” My bright red eyes were reflecting as I marveled at the beauty. "Were you also there the night of my tenth birthday?” I asked curiously.

“Not by choice, I was just following the crowd because something big was happening. I was just a bystander looking at what was going on. I’m completely innocent and never wanted that to happen to you!” Tears begin to fall from her eyes.

“Tears for something that’s sad are an acceptable way of expressing yourself. But, when tears are used because you’re in the wrong, they become a chain that wraps around your feet. Nothing more than arrogance at the fact that I’m stupid enough to believe your crocodile tears.” Pulling her hair with great force, I put her face right in front of mine.

“Tell me, why should I forgive someone who is an enemy? Even though you were just following orders, it sure seemed like you were enjoying yourself.” I slammed her head into the ground.

Not one of the other ladies moved in the venue, keeping extremely silent as to not draw my attention. That was until one of them decided it was the best time to make a break for it. “Shuka, handle it.” I ordered.

I lifted up Calista’s now bloodied face so she could get a full view of what was about to happen. Shuka, in the matter of a few seconds, pierced the back of the one who made a run for it. The heart of said woman was now pulsing outside of her body.

What followed was an eruption of emotions as all the ladies present understood how futile their situation currently was. Instead of indulging in the woman’s heart, Shuka simply smashed it within her hands as the body dropped motionless.

“You see that Calista? That is what true power looks like. Not some bullshit title that nobles like to hide behind. I’m sure she was some high-level aristocrat to be hanging around with you, but what did that title do to stop my dear Shuka?” My gaze was sharp as I stare into Calista’s eyes with her face full of bloody tears.

It wasn’t just on one occasion that I would try to interact with her, and every time she had her maids chase me away. My naive self at the time didn’t understand why that was happening to me. Getting the memories of my past life had given me some much-needed clarity.

She was just being a bitch, honestly, because if she was actually being forced to do it, I doubt it would be so violent. On more than one occasion I saw her smiling at the actions of the maids as if getting some sick pleasure off of it.

“I—I’m s-s-sorry for my… previous actions. Please don’t kill me!” Calista looked at me with upturned eyes while saying these words.

“You want sympathy?” I mused. “What about the sympathy I deserved at that time? I didn’t choose to be born into this family. It was that bastard sperm donor of a father who took advantage of a defenseless woman and raped her. Then, she gets all the blame, and her kid gets treated badly. Where’s my damn sympathy!” At my heightened voice many ladies within the room shrieked.

“I just did… what was expected of me.” She softly spoke.

I studied her expression closely. “You know Calista; I only ever approached you and the eighth princess through my first ten years of life. Tell me why she never once harmed me in any way, but I did remember a conflicted look on her face as her maids would shoo me away. At the very least she didn’t use violence against me, but I can’t say the same for you.”

“I DIDN’T MEAN IT!” She roared. “I never once enjoyed any of it, I swear!” Her face for the first time had some ferocity.

“Hmm, you didn’t mean it, you say?” I asked with intrigue on my face. At those interesting words, my nail claws extended as I swiped at her pretty little face. “I’m so sorry, Calista, but I swear I didn’t mean it.” I gave a slight smile.

I let Calista go because of her very amusing reaction. She shot up to her feet as she carefully felt her now even more bloodied face than before. Multiple gashes lay across her face. For a noble, it was all about how they presented themselves and with scar's like that, her value just hit rock bottom. No man would ever want to enter into any type of marriage with her.

“You bitch! How dare you do this to my face! I should have just killed you!” She screamed at me with hysteria. “Of course I treated you badly. Who would want a sibling like you who’s only half royalty? You’re stained with that dirty blood of your mother.”

“Hehehe” For a second there I was almost feeling the slightest bit of hesitation to end her life. But I think it would be much better for at least her to live for now, so she can send a very loud message to the royalty of the Tilum Kingdom. “Thank you, Calista, for making my job so much easier.” I watched as she calmed down by my words with a scrunched-up face.

My left hand grabbed her neck tightly as I plunged my right into one of her eyes, ripping it out of the socket. I stuffed it into her now-open mouth, trying desperately to breathe as I threw her out the third-floor window.

Hopefully my message will be well received. I giggled to myself as I wished to see my father’s face at what I just did to one of his princesses. Of course, he doesn’t actually care about them. But I just destroyed one of his precious pieces to use for someone else’s power and wealth through marriage.

Walking over to the now shattered window, I looked down as many people crowded around the now disfigured seventh princess's body. At the very least, somehow she was still moving. Very good, I thought. It wouldn’t be any fun if she didn’t actually live for awhile with her current appearance.

I looked over at Shuka, who was in between the door and all the terrified ladies in the room. She had a vicious grin on her face at my actions, and I could tell she wanted to run to me, but was holding her ground to not allow anyone to leave. I brought my hand to my lips, kissing it and blowing in Shuka’s direction with a wink.

Gazing around the room, all of them were trying really hard to make their bodies as small as possible on the ground to not get chosen next. “Ahahaha” I couldn’t help but laugh at their lack of any drive to live. At the very least, the one that ran away truly wanted to survive and had the guts to take action.

I grabbed one of the luxurious chairs and walked over to Shuka. Sitting it down in the way of freedom for all in attendance, I felt Shuka wrap her arms around my body, placing kisses on my neck as I sat in the chair.

“So… who here wants to join me?” I put my right leg over my left in anticipation for someone to volunteer.

Let’s see how strongly devoted nobles are to that oh-so-precious pride of theirs. Would they take death over holding onto what they’ve believed in and taught all their lives? I’m very confident a few will break; not everyone has a great relationship with their family.

There were about twenty ladies in attendance, so my odds are good at least a few will fold.

“You know my kind is called Vampire.” My fangs extended out for all to see. “I have many abilities, but one in particular would be very appealing to everyone here.” They all perked up at my words as if very curious about what I would possibly say. “You will become immortal and keep a youthful appearance for the rest of your life.”

Throughout the room there were many eyes that sparkled at the idea. I’m sure never in their wildest dreams did they think they would be able to live forever. The cherry on top of it all was to never lose their beauty. The thought, I’m sure, is out of this world, insane. But I know they couldn’t help themselves but have slight hope in my words.

Looking around the room, there were a few women who started showing signs of aging. They should be perfect examples for the rest of the room.

“You two older ladies, come forward.” I pointed at the now fearful women, who took a few steps back. “Shuka, get them over here!”

At my words, Shuka flashed to their location, grabbing both and forcing them to stand in front of me. Then, without even a word of warning, they both get forced to kneel by the very intimidating wolf girl whose hood has dropped. Gasps echoed throughout the room as her very cute and fluffy ears were revealed.

I chuckled at their reactions to a beast girl who I’m sure they hated with disdain from what I’ve heard. Standing up, I walked over to Shuka, hugging her from the side as the two older women looked on with weird faces. “Isn’t she just a cuddly little cutie?” My grin widened as I watched their expression twist as if trying to understand our relationship.

“You’re both women, and she's a beast.” One of them blurted out.

“What’s it to you? I can love who I want. Everyone should be able to choose the life they wish to lead. Not decided because of some bullshit tradition that “nobles” came up with a long time ago.” Kissing Shuka’s cheek, I look back, “So… who wants to get bitten first?” I grinned.
