“The truth is the Elven race isn’t strong.” Lyra commented
“What do you mean?” I asked, puzzled. “What I can feel from you is very formidable.”
“That may be true, but it isn’t truly my power. Elves have always been a people taken advantage of for as long as we’ve lived. Over the past centuries to even millennia, we were highly sought after by many races of the world for our looks. Many men coveted our woman, causing rifts between us and the rest of the world.” Lyra stopped her words, letting us take it all in.
“So, why are you so powerful now?”
“After spending a lot of time running away from the world, we happened upon a being that called itself the King of Spirits. We pleaded with him to give us the power to protect ourselves. Thankfully he agreed, giving the Elven race true power for the first time. From that point on, the Elves were blessed with spirit magic. So, what you’re sensing isn’t actually my power, but the spirits who grant me theirs.” She said with a light tone.
“Isn’t that still your power?” I asked.
“It’s more of a protector than a power. They protect us when we're in danger, but spirits are caring by nature. If violence can be avoided, they will take that route. I honestly don’t know how much I can really offer you on your vendetta against the crown. Also, if you turn me with your power of domination, would the spirits still aid me?” She asked with a sigh at her predicament.
Hmm, I can definitely see her point with not wanting to accept my power. There is a chance she will lose her birthright for using spirit magic. She could then become even weaker if I turned her, putting Lyra’s life in danger in the future because of that lost protection.
“Alright, I see your point.” At her refusal, I sighed inwardly, grabbing a cup I saw on the table. I use my knife like nails to puncture my skin and fill up the cup. Once completely full, I put it back on the table and pushed it towards Lyra. "Just drink it, and your body should be restored."
“But, are you sure?” She looked at me with worry on her face.
“It’s not a big deal, but I will still need your help with the other guild masters. Also, I plan to infect this city. Is there some other organization that could work? I asked expectantly.
Lyra took the cup of blood, shaking it a bit, watching the liquid on top ripple. She took one look at me and downed it without thinking much. Instantly her arm grew back in the matter of a few seconds. Her one eye went wide as she started to wiggle around her newly formed arm. She then ripped off her patch, revealing a completely restored eye.
My mind couldn't help but think back to when I used the potion made by the Holy Kingdom on the Pope. Why was it so much slower than what I just saw with Lyra? Could they have diluted my blood so thinly that what people bought was a very weak version? Can't say I'm surprised with the way that man portrayed himself, so greedy!
I wonder why a vampire of all things has such amazing blood as if it was holy. We actually tried using Shuka’s blood on our way here on an injured animal, and it had no reaction. Then, I dropped some of mine, and it returned back to perfect health, running off into the distance.
“By the grace of the spirit king, thank you so much!” Lyra got up and bowed before me in full dogeza.
“It’s not your spirit king, but Selene who healed you!” Shuka blurted out, surprising me a little. She’s been so subdued for most of our journey here. Except for her physical interactions, she’s always within arm’s length at all times. “You should be thanking her.” She mumbled under her breath as we both stared at her, forcing Shuka to bury her face into my side.
“Like I said before, good luck with that, and what I said was the highest form of respect within the Elven race.” Lyra looked exacerbated.
“It’s all good.” I rubbed Shuka’s head. “Do you have any slavers in this city? Also, you don’t mind if I turn this place upside down, do you?” I said with a cheeky grin.
“Well… I would be against it, but it’s not like I really have any other choice.” She sighed. “Just try not to destroy too much of the city; it will create issues for the adventurer guild.”
“I can’t make any promises, but I will try.” I gave a bright smile. “What about some slavers?”
“Sure, give me a minute.” Lyra started drawing an outline of the city at record speed. Wow, elves sure are insanely good artists, I thought to myself. After a few minutes she had drawn a detailed map with a few circles. “Just go to those spots indicated, and I’m sure you will find what you want.”
“Awesome! How should I go about it with the other guild masters?”
“It would be really hard if I tried to bring them all together. The best thing I could offer is introduction letters to those specific branches, getting you close to the target. I could create Adventurer cards for both of you and give an A ranking. That should bypass most screening processes and get you a meeting with the guild master. They always want to be aware of promising people when they enter their city. It will also allow you to bypass any entrance fee at the gates.”
“That sounds perfect; a pleasure doing business with you. Also, if you have any adventurers that you care about and don’t want to see die horribly, they shouldn’t take up that bounty you showed me earlier.”
“Noted… Head down to the lobby, and I will get you everything you need. Also try your best not to kill anyone down there. At least wait until you leave the guild hall.” Lyra pleaded.
“I assume you will want to be notified when I plan to sack the city?”
“That’s correct; we will use that time to infiltrate and rescue our kin.”
“Alright then, I will see you around.” I stood up and shook Lyra’s hand. Shuka snapped at the hand offered to her by the elf. That put a smile on my face at her cute actions.
As we made our way down the steps, the place that was bustling with excitement and noise came to a sudden halt as we reached the bottom. What a bunch of cowards, but at the same time I reveled in the fact they looked at me with such fear. What a great feeling! “Hehehe”
We both sat down at a table that was vacant as everyone from the surrounding tables moved one over to put more space between us. That was until two men walked up and sat on the opposite side.
Thankfully the wanted poster hasn’t been placed yet, so none of these people knew my actual identity. They're just lambs to the slaughter, so why stop them from offing themselves?
“I’m telling you this out of respect for the guild master; it's best for you to watch your words.” My tone was harsh and firm.
The man with blue slicked-back hair leaned forward on the table, giving a slight smirk. “You’ve got it all wrong; we were wondering if the two of you would like to join our party.”
“Not interested, and even if we did, what’s your rank?” I asked, slightly curious what kind of rank would be asking us to join them.
“We’re the best adventurer party in this city at C-rank. You would be treated well and protected.” He leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms as if he just made an offer that can’t be refused.
“Weak!” Shuka muttered.
“What? How could a C-rank party be weak, especially in this city?” He was utterly confused. “How can an unranked party look down on us?”
“It’s not that we’re looking down on you, but it’s just not up to our standards.” As if on cue, someone from the front desk walked over and gave us our documents. Two A-rank guild cards sitting on top of the pile, I lifted it up and showed the reassured man. “You see, not up to our standards.”
“Well fuck… Can we join you then?” He asked with fervor.
“Why would we want you to join us?” I asked, not understanding their end goal, but this also gave me an opportunity. Couldn’t I just dominate these two guys and turn them onto the city? Especially with them being the highest rank this place can offer. “You know what? Follow us.” I grabbed Shuka by the hand, and we exited the guild with the two men in tow.
As we made our way to a secluded area, I focused on the conversation happening behind us.
“You think we're finally going to lose our virginity? This was always our dream: to be in a party with a beautiful girl.”
“Not just one either, but two stunning beauties. Have you seen what the one looks like under the hood? She’s got the same red eyes as the redhead, but also this dangerous charm.”
“I prefer the redhead anyway, so you can take her.”
“Sounds like a plan. Let’s try our best to flirt with our destined partner.”
Both of them laughed as we reached our destination. It was a wooded area within the city limits that gave good camouflage from the outside. I turned back, facing the two men as I pulled Shuka into an embrace, planting a deep kiss on her lips. Our tongues tangled together for a good minute fighting for control before we acknowledged the two other people here.
Of course I made sure to give them a quick glance during the act just to give them false hope. I’m such a bitch, I thought to myself. On the other hand, who gives a fuck! Releasing our lips, I looked over at the two men.
“Just so you know, I favor girls; I have no interest in men.” I stated wanting them to understand there was no chance.
“What? Is it weird that I find two women kissing hot?” One of them asked the other.
“No! I have a similar feeling, but to think we have no shot.”
“Don’t be too sad; I’ve decided to dominate both of you.” Licking my lips seductively, I smile wickedly at them.
“Like as in having sex?”
“Are we really going to get our chance? Finally…”
“Sure, turn around while we get undressed.” I said with a smirk.
“Oh shit, its happening.” The two men, excited as they turned around without any worry, left their backs to the two unknown women. What’s the worst that could happen?
“Fools…” I whispered under my breath.
I signaled Shuka, who pounced on one of the men, holding him firmly to the ground as I plunged my fangs into the other man, activating domination. Within the matter of thirty seconds he was completely under my control. The honey-like flavored blood never gets old as it flows down my throat. What a great life, I thought to myself. It tastes better than any food I had in this life or the last.
Something I've noticed about the domination skill is that no matter how powerful my target is, they aren't capable of breaking free from it. It's like they get put into a hypnotic state, unable to take any action against it. Such a great trump card if I ever get myself into a bad position against a strong enemy.
“What the hell?” The one on the ground screamed.
“Don’t worry; you will join him shortly.” Releasing my first victim, I stare intently at the other.
I leaned down, straddling his back as Shuka jumped around to the front, holding his head down harshly.
“Why are you doing this?” He screamed.
“I’m just fulfilling your wish of wanting to be with two beautiful girls, but sadly you won’t ever be able to touch us. Ahahaha, you will work for me until the day your body falls apart.” I gripped his hair tightly as I looked up at his friend, who was watching unmoving. “Just look at him; he’s already accepted his fate. Now, it’s your turn.”
"HELP ME!!!" He yelled as his life of freedom ended.
After successfully dominating both of my targets, I laid out my plan for this city.
“First I want both of you to find strong adventures and turn them. Once you’ve got a decent-sized squad, stop every resource from leaving this city and going to the capital. I don’t care what you do with them. Kill, dominate, ravage. It doesn’t matter. Just stop everything that’s heading into the capital with all you’ve got, or I will kill you myself.” Before leaving, I gave them the map Lyra drew for us. Why not just have these two do it?
“Yes, mistress! We will not fail you!” Both newly dominated men said in unison.
