Final Notice: The Sims 4 High School Years is Coming to Bully Your Mod Folder! What you need to know.

Well, I never thought I’d bet telling maxis to slow down with the sims 4! We just got the werewolf pack which has inspired a new cat-girls themed variant state for Succubi (tentatively called the Pack Bitches complete with new custom made meshes I’ve been working on the last month) and now, not a month later, maxis is adding the social networking system I’ve always wanted for an escort career. Maxis must have really wanted me to come back from hiatus!

Look, I’m going to give it to you straight. It’s likely your mod folder is going to get shoved into the locker with this expansion and it’ll likely be a day+ if not a few days for your mods to get things back and running again. So, this time, more than ever, it’s better to air on the side of caution. The new expansion pack is set to release on July 28th, 2022 which means the pre-patch is releasing on July 26th, 2022. It will break mods. It will require reworked systems. Expect things to be rough. As usual, it’s the pre-patch which usually breaks mods the most.

As such, your favorite modders will be active tomorrow for the pre-patch release hunting for changes and patching our work. Usually, we have things patched within hours, or on the same day. However, sometimes, the changes are so fundamental that they require 1-2 days to rework systems for a hotpatch. This is likely one of those times. So, to be on the safe side, if you plan on playing modded sims during this time then please Disable Automatic Game Updates in Origin and go offline. (Origin in the upper left -> application settings -> disable automatic game updates, then origin tab again and hit ‘go offline’).
