Despite Rumi not being an EXCEPTIONALLY complicated character, visually, I spent a lot of time trying to get all the details right. The embroidery work on her jacket, the weird little pink charm thing, and the proportions in her face... A lot of work went into her from the initial lineart to this final rendering.

Drawing characters from very stylized media presents the challenge of me having to decide how much of my own style gets poured into the piece, versus how much I replicate the character's original style. Rumi and the K-Pop girls have these massive eyes, tiny noses, round heads, and pointy little chins -- not alien by any means, but still very exaggerated in a way that isn't especially realistic.

By the time of posting this, by the way, I still haven't seen the movie...
