This month I'm likely going to be down for a week or so like last month so I've moved and adjusted my projects accordingly.
I'm going to get those recipe updates to you all this coming week. Work has been crazy - I've been working almost 12 hour days so my brain has been fried and it's been hard to focus at night. This week should be a little quieter so I'm aiming to have them at the end of the week, if not sooner. I'm also going to look at updating my chairs as there's been a batch fix added to S4S.
One of the bigger projects I wanted to start working on are spices, so when I started brainstorming some recipes known for their spice flavors I ended up choosing some New Orleans themed recipes, harvestables, and objects. You can see some inspiration pics above that I found on Pinterest, as well as some pics of my seafood re-meshes of crab and shrimp. I also added a pic of the herb rack I meshed out to dry herbs/flowers on for spices and teas (if I have time to get to it this month).
Harvestables
Crustacean & Shellfish Trap
I'm going to copy the fish trap for this and use the lobster trap mesh from Cats & Dogs. I'll try to make it base game but if I can't change the animations easily then it will require Island Living. I'll be adding more stuff to catch with this in the future but for now I want to add:
Mill Recipes
I'm going to see if I can get the drying rack done so these spice recipes will require pre-dried ingredients, but if I can't get it done I'll just have them require the fresh ingredients for now:
Food Recipes
New Orleans is one of my favorite places, the food is just amazing. My stepdad was from the south and worked as a chef in New Orleans when he was younger. We were really poor growing up so he didn't cook Seafood Gumbo often, but when he did omg I was the happiest kid ever!
That kinda inspired the other stuff I want to make, a Crawfish Boil and Beignets. When you do a crawfish boil you have a HUGE pot that you boil everything in then drain it and literally dump it out onto a table covered in brown paper or newspaper. Then everyone just grabs what they want and eats, no utensils required!!!
And the beignets? Cafe Du Monde piles them onto plates and dumps a load of powdered sugar on them as soon as they come out of the fryer. They're light and crunchy and buttery, and best with a strong cup of coffee.
Are you hungry yet? lol
